Both are good, interesting would be taking Dermot to a mall in Louisville, Kentucky and ordering his pretzel. He would be in the heart of bourbon country in a food court. I'm sure he couldn't be happier. Then he gets a peanut butter pretzel.

Too bad they didn't get to try all the dipping sauces as well. Especially the dessert pretzels with the chocolate dipping sauce or vanilla icing type sauce. I love the hot mustard with the jalapeno pretzel. Or the hotdog pretzel roll. Yum!

One of my local ones (south central PA, so home of AA) was making the Glazin Rasin long after it went off the menu. You just had to know to ask. But you would think, being so close to HQ, I would be in a test market. The more I think about it, I think I heard of the Jalapeno one, but not the bacon, for sure.

These are pretzels that are available in a lot of our Shopping Malls. The scent of the pretzels as you walk around is so tantalizing. Amazing. Warm with mustard or cheese sauce. Yum

I worked at Auntie Anne's when I was in high school. I used to be really good at making them. The best part of the job was we got free pretzels and I ate way to many. I think the most I ate in one shift was 12. I eventually had to quit that job because I was gaining too much weight. Still to this day I love those pretzels.

Fun fact, Auntie Anne's started in 1988 at a stand in a Pennsylvania Farmer's Market just 5 minutes from where I live. It's amazing to me that they started so small and are now international 🙂

As to how you eat the pretzels in the mall, they give you the pretzels in a paper wrapper. Sometimes, they give it to in a box. They also hand you some napkins. Most folks buy dips to dip the pretzels in. Mustards and a "cheese" dip are the most common. Once Aunt Annie has branches in Ireland, mix a little bit of limburger cheese in a lot of cream cheese. Eat the pretzels with the cheese mixture, thin sliced red onions, and large glasses of beer.

Since this is the thing I can eat any time, no matter how full, I consider myself a connoisseur. My rating: 1. Pretzel Hut (haven't had one since I moved from the Midwest. Miss them so) 2. Wetzel's 3. Auntie Anne's. They're greasy and have an off taste to me. Sadly, it's the closest to me, other than the movie theater, which recently switched to some disgusting cheese

I think it's so cool and sweet how much Dermot respects and enjoys being paired with Lolsy. She's so naturally funny and personable, let alone an Irish beauty. She's pretty much my favourite TRYer. Also, when Blaithan embarrassed Paddy after he motor-boated the pretzel (that's the PG version of what he was doing), it was hilarious. The look on his face when he realized what she meant was priceless. Great video.

Lolsy, five seconds in is too early to try to kill your tasting partner! Sorry y'all didn't get to try the pretzel dogs! What I love are when places get extra elaborate with the fillings - not just hot dogs, but cheese or bacon or grilled chicken... We have an Amish market near us and since they make all their pretzel dough in house, they can really offer a variety pack - and for me being in Maryland, sometimes the local shop offers stuffed pretzels that are just FILLED with crab dip.

Auntie Anne's has been a FIXTURE in American shopping malls since I can remember -- often one of the FIRST smells you're hit with when you enter is from the Auntie Anne's stand making their fresh things.
