Finn here, what you really want is some sautéed reindeer, with mashed potatoes, cowberry jam, and a dark beer(which also goes in the reindeer) :D Sautéed reindeer is easy; sliced reindeer, fry up in butter(or reindeer fat if classi), with some salt and black pepper, add beer(or cream or water) and then stew.

As a Norwegian it is a tradition to have a reindeer roast during christmas! I do seasoning it with juniper,time,salt and pepper! Served with either roasted potatoes or cream gratinated potatoes! Long runner beans,carrots and brussels sprouts! A saus made of cream,reindeer stock,flavoured with juniper,time,salt and pepper! Served along it are also blackcurrant gelo or red currant gelo! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

And also when i did work in the US those with Scandinavian ancestors do seem to live in a fantasy world about Scandinavia! They mix alot together that really not goes together and think it is authentic Scandinavian!

I absolutely love TRY CHANNEL during the holidays! I don't think I'm alone in anticipating the ADVENT CALENDAR DRINK ALONG, SING ALONG, BING A BONG episode every year. @@michelleboldan5 Similar yet a lot less gamey taste. I mean, it does taste gamey, just nowhere near as strong a presence in the flavor profile. If you imagine a 50/50 mix of venison and veil you're not far off, neither in taste nor in texture.

The Reindeer meat spread was invented in Newer Jersey, back in '34, BEFORE the war. Justine's great-grandfather, Nubian Hotchkiss, IV, was living in Hoboken and thought up slaughtering and packaging wild rodent caviar. And that's the troof! 😮😅

Here in North Carolina, America, the area I live in has quite a few deer. Different breed, if not species. Our 'hillbillies' are of Irish and Scottish decent, and between hogs and deer, that was the large animal protien of choice. A 'deer picking' is not quite as common as a 'pig picking' but they are a regular occurance.

you could arrange a variety of reindeer snacks on a sleigh shaped basket with crackers and cheese to make it more festive. maybe this is why northern Europe has strong mustards

I have eaten a many four-legged beasts, living here in Saskatchewan, Canada. Some of my favorite are deer, bison, moose, and elk. I haven't tried reindeer, but I am sure it is much like the other meats I have eaten, from the deer family. Wild game is different than eating the domesticated animals we are accustomed to, but if you grew up eating wild game, you learn to appreciate the different flavors of meat available.
