As an owner of an Irish terrier, I can confirm that they turn into speed demons and rub themselves on furniture for at least half an hour after bath time.

Best breed ever. There isn't a dog that comes close. My girl is 3.6 yrs old and has her Advanced Obedience title. She has given me two gorgeous litters, too.

When my Saint does that after a bath, it is like I have been given a bath, as well as the furniture in my house. Your terrier is so adorable!

Hilarious. Our Irish does a similar routine after a bath. Tears up the bed going in circles and rolls under the pillows until they’re all on the floor. Funny how they’re all so similar.

Both my Irish and Wire Fox Terrier do this after bath time. I'm well used to seeing a sight such as this 😂😂😂 Gorgeous colouring though, my Irish is sandy-red.

The after bath zoomies, my Welsh terriers do the same thing. Well, except for the crazy tail chasing, that's just weird, lol.

Great stuff. My friend has one and he's just as crazy - he actually jumps with shock when he sees his own shadow.

Typical Irish with their energy and personality. Ours guards our home from the possibility that a squirrel might invade.

They do that cause their skin feels itchy, that's why you should dry them off with a blow dryer

I have to bathe mine WEEKLY or else he stinks intolerably. Even after about two or three days, the smell is terrible. He is an indoor dog, goes outside for ten or fifteen minutes about seven or eight times a day. I would not purchase a dog of this breed again, if I knew then what I know now.

I don't want to come off mean here, but are you sure you've got an Irish terrier? I don't want anyone to read your comment and get put off buying the finest breed of dog to ever grace God's green earth Because that doesnt sound like any Irish terrier I've ever heard of. They're relatively hypoallergenic dogs because they've got a softer inner coat, and wiry outer coat. Only the outer coat really sheds, and even then, barely much at all. I mean I had an Irish terrier who had terrible skin allergies the poor girl. And would lead to her chewing herself and getting basically black hairless areas on her skin that would occasionally smell a TINY bit, but only if you literally got next to her and sniffed her for some reason. because they'd become succeptible to fungal infection and stuff before the cure would take hold, because it was kind of a long process to clear the skin. But then she'd be fine ahain. Sometimes for a couple years before another flare up. You've either got a different type of dog, or you may have an Irish with this skin condition. If you see any darkened hairless spots, especially on the underside between the back legs, or occasionally in the from "armpits" area. Then that's why your dog smells. It shouldn't be that terrible though. However, if you do see these things. Take your dog to a vet immidiatiely. You might pay 75 bucks for office visit and a shot, and they'll give you a medicated mousse called ketoseb. All total depending on where in the country you live, you might be out 100 bucks, 120 tops. You apply it to the problem area each day for a couple weeks and bam, problem solved. It's a Form of allergic dermatitis. It's rare, but unfortunately my little girl got it so we dealt with it and loved her all the same. She recently passed away and I'm still heartbroken and looking for a new Irish puppy because honestly. Once you've had one you'll always need to have one. They're truly the best breed of dog on earth. Perfect blend of intelligence, energy, fun, attitude, absolutely attitude, loyalty, and pure love. There is no form of love on earth stronger than the love an Irish terrier has for "its people", those it considers family.
