Patrick was born in Britain of a Romanized family. When he was 16 years old, Irish raiders tore him from the villa of his father, a deacon and minor local official, and carried Patrick into slavery in Ireland. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, and, by extension, celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, céilithe, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks. Irish Stew is a thick, hearty dish of mutton, potatoes, and onions and undisputedly the national dish of Ireland. Sounds good I need to make that. I remember you saying Brown bread was the bread of Ireland. I thought it was Soda bread too. I figured that about the alcohol they drink. The Irish Hare is cute. I learned alot from you about my ancestry from both of my parents side. It used to be 18 drinking age in the US too up till 1984.

Hmmm, I wonder what green liquid you were drinking? If you said what it was, I missed it. I only had five answers correct until you asked the question about turning the river green. Love, prayers, and blessings...MaryEllen

Fun quiz! I think I knew the brown bread answer because you mentioned something about it in your Irish Soda Bread Muffins video. And I knew Chicago dyed their river as they still do it today. Oh and the Slainte because I've seen it on another YT channel. I can't believe they have so many castles! What was the green drink you were drinking? And cute decorations and outfit! ☘

Interesting! My Mother’s side came from Ireland to the Appalachian Mountains. I had a Great Uncle “Saintie” whose real name was William. I asked my Great Aunt why they called him “Saintie” and she said it was because he loved Christmas so much. I thought that was odd, because they were saying “Saintie” instead of “Santa”, but now I know why! You always make holidays so fun, Dolores. Great trivia!🍀
