It all started from war surplus jeep axles used in farm wagons. Then converting the Fordson of that era into the very first backhoe and major loader. Still a lot of those fordson still being used in England, Russia and nearby.

Remember PDI reference going back to 1970's but we were always told by dealer it was pre-delivery inspection. Effectively same thing I suppose

I know the British Military love JCB. If there is a problem on Friday. the JCB guy on test phones his cousin., who rings his mate, and the answer arrives Monday morning.

Ive had the opportunity to have driven all of the jcb backhoe diggers apart from the 53 model loadall ive allways wonderd why oth builders usdd 3 cyl engines instead of 4 like jcb ford 550s allways seemed lacking in torque but they were a smaller machine . The 3cx has allways bn a larger machine . Tbey have their issues too they not perfect but what is .

Aaaaargh tractor porn 😋 So this factory, assuming its 24hrs, 365, knocks out almost 33,000 various units per year. Who the hell buys all these machines? There must be a huge area filled with machines just sitting about waiting to be bought. My most treasured JCB item are my JCB Pro Boot socks from Matalan at £7 for 3 pairs, luxuriously soft and heavy duty. (other shops are available 😁) Great video, I would love to work in this factory after I spent first 2 months drooling over the machines 😁😜

In the U.K. they are by far the most common brand of Construction equipment. Also I think it’s the most common brand in India also.

The life of the machines is not very long in large construction. Not sure of the exact time but it’s something like 18months. They are continually changed also their world market is huge. Great historical company.

And now of course in 2020, JCB doing a range of 100% electric diggers so they can dig indoors without air issues and no noise too! I think now is the time JCB forge ahead and do 100% electric machines no more Diesel no more Petrol machines. Yes it mean changing their factories over from the ICE building area's to Electric motors and Battery etc. But times change as the world is now moving into more Electric powered machine and ships and even planes and of course Cars and trucks... Time to dump the polluting noisy hard to maintain Diesel and Petrol engine based JCB's and make JCB and Britain the world leading Battery and Electric machine maker doing as many farming and industry systems as possible, The Lithe-on Ion battery was invented here the electric motor was too and the Hydraulics was also invented here and of course the 4x4 wheel drive also. Those who work now with complex ICE system motors can easily retrain to do a simpler electric motor system. if any thing the new tech will make jobs as the demand for these pollution and noise free efficient machine will grow as people see they are far better than the complex noise dirty polluting expensive to maintain ICE machines.. Farmers can use wind and solar to charge up their electric tractors and combines on the farm without paying for expensive Diesel and without problems of expensive maintaining and any excess electricity they have can be sold to the national grid making more money for them. The power of the Electric systems will out do any Diesel system and cost a faction to use or maintain. a win win. no pollution no noise low vibration. the future is here! Those whom don't change will pass into the history books.
