Hi we will be going there on a cruise ship would you recommend doing the beach or the garden palm resort you stayed at for the day?

Definitely do Reggae Beach if you're only there for the day. We stayed in Basseterre for over a week but ended up driving to Reggae Beach almost every day. Shipwreck Bar is fun but the beach there isn't great for swimming. If you're a history buff, Brimstone Hill fortress is an incredible tour with the best views on the island.
