Iron Banner Sucks.

EDIT: I'm not going to respond to braindead takes like 'if you don't want to play then log off'. Games don't get better without criticism, and Iron Banner is objectively in a bad spot. I will never stop being mad about getting the sound of my sword hitting and the hit marker JUST FOR THEM TO TAKE 0 DAMAGE THEN SHOTGUN ME! The exact same energy to respawning into a sniper scope, lmgs, supers ect. Its not even just IB its crucible in general. It's especially bad in comp.

Eruption is such a stupid mode especially in a sbmm environment. Going on a streak punishes you, if you get into a gun fight on a low timer, get tagged by the enemy and blow up due to the timer the enemy still gets all the points. If you play to win, the pragmatic thing is the second the timer starts is to jump off the map, to deny enemies the extra points.

There is a point to the timer it’s because your abilities have increased regen. Tbh I have fun in this mode because if you play it right you can get your super right around when you get the 5 kills streak every time and just go crazy because everyone is just feeding you. The marker for being on a streak makes abusing kill clip and devour a lot easier 😂.

without zones nobody has reason to use the map. entire teams will camp in a small location together. the more kills you get, the more passive you will play. why take any risks? and finally killing yourself to denied points to the other team is stupid. Abilities and supers are in abundance. Anyone that hates mayhem wont like this. I dont understand why people like it so much. Its not fun by any measure.

Possibly the worst experience I have had with Iron Banner ever, reset happened yesterday, played it, and suddenly it was the most different thing ever. Even before it wasn't so great but it sure as hell was a lot better than now. Too bad Control, Clash etc aren't main gamemodes anymore.

I got my wins for Iron Lord and got out. Man the idea of Iron Banner is so cool but it is far too sweaty with the population being so low. Also the spawns are ASS. The amount of times I spawned and 2 seconds later I’m in a gunfight is unacceptable.

Eruption is a cool concept ....very bad applied. The moment someone disconects you can expect the other team to spam supeprs and abilities until you get steamrolled into oblivion.

On console i meleed this guy 3 times and he took 0 damage despite him toddling around like a kinderguardian. He popped his bubble, i picked up a shot of conditional finality, i shot and ignited him only to get meleed to death as he ignited and survived with full health. Seriously the connections and the matchmaking quality this week are abysmal. I should not be punished with worse teammates if i perform better. Im sick of going 2.0+ and 2nd place on my team not even cracking 1.0 with half as many captures.

I don't engage with iron banner anymore. The gamemodes were enough to push me away a while ago. Granted I'm not really in pvp much these days anyway, but iron banner being what it is is a contributing factor to why I moved away over time.

I despise PvP, but played IB the last two weeks to get some armor for cosmetics and go for some weapon rolls for shits and giggles. I played enough to reset it twice, so here it is, as a veteran of Destiny since the original beta: >Eruption is an awful mode. >Mind you, I'm not good at PvP, but I constantly felt like I had just enough less health than others, so I lost gunfights I should've won. Maybe it was connection or I'm just that bad, but that's what it felt like. >The amount of games it takes to get the max reputation boost is awful. I hate basically all of the experimental game modes they've tried. Probably the only one I don't mind is Supremacy. If it's not Control or Supremacy, I have absolutely no desire to play through the torture. I played a decent amount during the first IB, but I can't be bothered to play this time to gild Iron Lord. Getting zero progress when you lose games is so frustrating.

Eh.. I don't love eruption, but I've been able to adapt after playing it for a while. I've been getting a ton enhancement prisms and Iron banner loot, as well as materials from Shax, Salad Man, the Gunsmith and Rahool. It's been rewarding in that sense. I'm mostly solo, so I don't raid or play Trials very often. There are unique combos to be found in the iron banner weapons for pvp &pve, but I agree nothing necessarily best in class.

Played the beginning of the season before the spam got the title played two games last week and bailed. Got a few more things to do this season then I’ll shut Destiny down for a while. I hope Parsons enjoys those crappy cars because he ruined Destiny.

I hopped in for the first time in PvP since season of the wish, I had a stockpile of PvP rolls I wanted to finally try but sheesh is Iron Banner laggy. I got sniped yesterday by a Chaperone user who was in A flag while I was on C flag

Because I only started playing again in lighfall and wanted a good roll of multimach I played tonnes of IB fortress and honestly like the mode, but hate the oppressive abilities and constant heavy.

I actually prefer eruption over fortress. I at least have more of an impact points wise when the game decides to lobby balance me for the 5th game in a row. Trying to play obj or contest heavy against a stack or a team or warlords whilst I have 5 blueberries sitting back with scouts playing for k/d is genuinely insufferable to me. The constant presence of lmg’s really did feel awful and there was 0 way to effectively score points. In eruption I just get storm’s edged ~7+ times a game, but at least I can score points as a solo player lmao. On the topic of loot for some reason I decided to farm for crimil’s seeing as it’ll cost more engrams next season, 65 rolls later and the best I have is a 2/5 (slideways, precision) on a gun I’ll realistically never use. Why they felt the need to bloat the perk pool with air trigger and strategist I’m not quite sure. Skulking wolf remains one of the nicest origin traits in the game, but seeing how centred around aggressive play it is it’s borderline useless right now. Playing aggressive is a borderline death sentence unless you’re running invis anyway. Thanks for the vid, good takes as usual

I have reasonably enjoyed the game modes and most of my games aren't laggy (NA EST). But when I do get a bad game, I basically just sit in orbit for 5 minutes trying to figure out what to do. Because I want to love PVP but it's just objectively a negative experience when I get into lobbies full of lag at prime time. Probably a symptom of the plummeting player count.

To be honest I don't even know what the point of the mode is anymore I was under the assumption it was a way to power level and for PVE players to play and get loot good enough to go into PVP and win matches. Literally none of those things are true, and the modes are....tbh I could do deal with Tribute if the banks were in better places consistently.

Lastly, do you like a mode where leaving matches is more frequent than Trials? Then this is the mode for you Leavers need to be punished harsher but people who actually stay in the matches need far better rewards

If quitter penalties aren't working now then they never will. 6s shouldn't have quitter penalties at all, particularly given that we have 0 way to control what maps we get (no map voting, filtering, etc.) and no freelance mode means if I see a 4 stack on the enemy team I'm leaving by default. If they want people to stick around for a match they'll need to have rewards that feel like they're worth grinding for, and right now Iron Banner doesn't.

As a pvp player i do agree that Iron banner needs a full rework from the ground up. With trials tho, it needs new loot and old loot. Old loot pertains too like yr 3 trials lions vigil armor from destiny 1 and ofc the prestige nine armor. For IB they could return the days of iron and weapons like the unbent tree and ect, same goes for trials like i just covered... Iron banner and trials are not in a very good spot. Even pvp it self is not. I also heavily dislike eruption, it punishes people and it overall isn't good lol.

Eruption is honestly the most bafflingly bad game-mode I have ever seen, together with tribute and rift (but the latter are just functionally incapable of being in a 6v6 shooter without sucking). If you do poorly, you are constantly faced with supers while already being farmed, but if you do good, the wall hacks and timer make is cancer to play the game too. My usual gameplay loop is getting the kill-streak without noticing and then immediately dying because the enemy team now gets to see my position 24/7. Crazy how they managed to make a game-mode where everyone feels bad all the time honestly.
