The issue about making everything from scratch is when your poor, and no not about cost, you dont have the time. When im home from work i just want to sleep. I guess I could spend the few free hours I have prepping/cooking/baking but...then when do I relax. And no, I dont know if its because I used to work in a kitchen, but cooking/baking is not relaxing to me. Baking is actually the opposite lol
@AngelOneirosАй бұрын
It can also be surprisingly expensive. Like yeah, I can buy everything I need to make bread, or I can spend a dollar on the cheapest loaf in the store. Or you could buy everything needed to make spaghetti entirely from scratch, vs. a can of cheap sauce and packet of bottom shelf pasta. I dabble in making things from scratch when I can, but most of the time I come away with the idea of “this would have been so much faster and cheaper to just buy it pre-made.” Yeah, from scratch is delicious, of course, but usually the bump in quality isn’t always worth the cumulative price in time and money.
@SolDizZoАй бұрын
Take care of your health-- If you spend that time more regularly, you will get better and better and might find it meditative (not relaxing) to spend that time on something that will only benefit you. Then after a week or two, you will even be very efficient with your food prep and have lots of time to spare. Imagine-- prep for your whole work week in one hour! It's possible! I work 12-hour shifts so I legitimately only have a few hours each day Simple start -- marinate and grill a lot of chicken, cook and season a pan full of rice. Then you can portion out the chicken and rice into tupperware for lunch breaks and save money on fast food / frozen food. Make food more often and you will also have leftovers. Don't be afraid to make more IF you have the fridge space. Tupperware can help it all fit and be organized in your fridge.

This was one of my least favourite videos because even the tiktoks chosen didn't have a lot to talk about which is your dad's strong suit. I would love to hear about what your dad has had to overcome in life and what teachings helped him get to where he is, and what helps him maintain such serious focus and control. Thanks for posting as always!! :) you are a great son to your father and you are quite funny which is the perfect balance.

I agree with your dad. Many people made fun of Nara. But she reminded me of my mom. My mom is a housewife and yes, she cooked everything from scratch, she loves cooking. It is such a wholesome to have that. . . It is such a big difference. The food from store or fastfood or whatnot just don't compare. So yeah, if a husband is a big time breadwinner and wants to come home to a delectable menu, this is a win-win for all.

It’s refreshing to see someone appreciate what Nara Smith does for her family. I love making things from scratch as well, believe me or not but people often judge me as well. They tell me I’m doing too much and so on but, I don’t see it that way. Food is my love language and I truly want the people I love to feel and taste the passion I’ve created. I really admire women/men who have a passion and understanding for it all. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind ordering out once in a blue moon but it hits differently when you create it on your own.
@snoopstheboss994Ай бұрын
I think people have mostly an issue because she pretends she just happens to have all the stuff at hand.... You don't hear children that need anything (because obviously she has help). Everything is clean and overproduced. She shills something as "just happening" that she creates with a whole team. And has planned out for weeks, I assume.This is not normal "cooking from scratch". And I love cooking and know how much preparation and clean up is necessary for everything.
@texbecks6682Ай бұрын
Her kids have a craving for a cereal, but she doesn't have it in the house so she take five hours to make it for them. That's not real. People don't have a problem with homemade, they have a problem with fake.
@dahliaherrod4301Ай бұрын
@@snoopstheboss994there's a lot of assumptions baked into that statement. I think we're taking her way too seriously. At no point does she say she does everything in the moment. More than likely her family's requests are just springboards for ideas that she implements in her videos. When you stop taking her seriously it's really easy to enjoy her content
