It's going to be weird when I have this guy (preordered a while ago) and when I put him in my Lost Light diorama he's the same size as Matermind's Rewind, let alone only being a fraction bigger than Maketoy's Tailgate. It's going to be doubly hilarious when MC's Chromdome is twice the size of him considering Cyclonus is meant to be taller.

I think it's inspired by IDW, but with it being part of their samurai line, the alt mode is more of a old Japan meets Transformers situation. Definitely in on their samurai line. Good review!!!

Great review and great recommendation!! That is exactly it!! The only reason to have it is to have the best idw cyclonus in robot mode. However I am also bummed out since his altmode was clearly shown several times in the comics

This looks great in bot but that ALT mode is just OK. Any time I see an IDW Cyclonus figure I can't help but think of the great Maketoys upgrade for Generations Cyclonus and his amazing little friend Rearend. That guy is probably one of my favorite figures ever released 1st or 3rd party.

I absolutely love mine although it is so stiff and I haven’t bothered to transform it. Get it in the right pose and none of that matters. Looks great next to my wheel jack they make each other pop! Nice review!

Honestly I think at this stage Iron Factory should consider dumping alt modes (they are mostly trash) and kind of do stylish Flame Toys style legend class figures.

IDW Cyclonus, man... this character I fear will haunt me forever. - MMC Boreas: Great scale but doesn't look good - Fans Toys Quietus with the swap out parts: Awesome, but too big - Generations Cyclonus with MakeToys upgrade: Mediocre head and too small, although perfect scale with MakeToys Rearend - Kingdom Cyclonus with BDT upgrade: scales well, but no hip skirts and the head looks off again - Iron Factory Hannyamaru: Looks cool, but way too small For dog's sake, all I want is a comic accurate, well-scaled Cyclonus for my Lost Light, but every time somebody tackles the topic the results are meh :/

Again IF has good TF action figures but the alt modes are suggestive at most, the collectors are too forgiving and will end up praising them to no end. As usual the sculpt is great and since I'm getting the IF Samurais I'm getting this one too... or maybe I will just skip this one and cancel all my other IF Samurai preorders!!! Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.

IF Alt modes have all but killed the line for me recently, they range from almost acceptable to didn't even try. When was the last time the alt mode did not have robot hands just hanging out on it?

Their Scourge, Galvatron and Cyclonus came from “better” to “worst” in that order. I would like it to have the other face sculpt (not zombie look) that he also had in IDW. Anyway, I got their Galvatron, but I will definitely skip this one 🤔😁 Thanks for the review!

Its not a design I'm fond of but that's subjective. That alt mode is a travesty by any measure, very weak.

Idw and stylized so not for me I'm really beginning to dislike stylized figures. Just make the bot how its supposed to look!

And I dislike the boring ass G1 looks. Not allowing for the designers to breathe hurts the hobby more than petty competition.

@alphatrion100 I have little interest in boxy G1 designs. But you know what's great? The market's big enough to support both of our interests, so you can buy what you want and I can buy what I want. And I'll say there's a lot more G1 styled 3rd party out there than there is the stylized stuff. And you know Iron Factory doesn't do G1, they never have. You've got folks like Newage and Magic Square for that. Why gripe about it?

@@Jimmy-McPerson Dont steal the G1 carachters. Make something entirely new then. Dont leech of something you dont like just becaus its populair and it sells BECAUSE of the g1 connection and then change it. (Like the entire idw thing 🤮)

@@Jimmy-McPerson I own Iron factory mirage because he was the only legends version of the carachter. Hated him so much i replaced him with a rubber (cartoon acurate, but place holder) ReAction figure. Still waiting for a decent sunstreaker. There is a lot that hasnt yet been made with the G1 esthetic.
