Don't know what it is but Iron Maiden songs sound amazing acoustically. Almost like they were written to be played that way and Maiden just plays it amplified. lol I wonder how the guys in Maiden feel about Thomas's rendition of their music. Would be amazing to have Bruce sing to Thomas's playing.

What’s amazing is that Harris has absolutely no musical training at all, and he’s a huge part of the writing on many of their song. Now, he didn’t write this one, this one is just Dickinson. But you’ve nailed it, all their songs could be played like this, especially their later ones. Despite little training among their members, they somehow have that classical influence. Perhaps that’s why it’s called classical. There’s actually studies that show that fans of classical music and of metal, particularly the more “classic” metal, tend to have similar IQs and thought processes.

@@QuietToproll Empire is the best song in their career, their masterpice/magnum opus. Maybe other songs feel more "maiden-ish" in their format and will please the fans more, but this is an universally great song. It certainly deserved better production and mixing as the whole album, and deserves a live recording with orchestra at a theater or concert hall (this would certainly end the debate).
