See how Nick (🇩🇪) dives deep in showing Lex (🇺🇸/🇲🇽) one of his most influential bands. She's heard the classics, but never this instrumental wonder!
Thank you for joining us! Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments and don't forget to like and subscribe. We're open to suggestions/requests, so if you have one leave in the comments!
This is from the album Killers (1981) by Iron Maiden.

RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.

Back when the Killers album was released, I had just bought a new Ford Mustang and was driving it out of the dealer's lot. I flipped on the stereo and they announced a new single by Iron Maiden: The Ides of March / Wrathchild. It was the first time I ever heard Iron Maiden. I was instantly hooked!!

Hi guys, just found your channel on what's becoming my regular trip into KZbin reaction videos, and you're one of the most enjoyable I've found so far. It really works that you're audio only, though I'd love to see what you make of some concert videos. I was very struck by Lex's comment about listening to this stuff for the first time in headphones in the '80's - I was that guy! I grew up listening to Rush, Maiden, Priest, Marillion, wishing I'd been around when Pink Floyd, Led Zep etc were starting out. I'm loving the fact that so many people decades younger than me are finding all this stuff and enjoying it so much, and I'm realising how much I took it for granted growing up. A couple of points - Marillion is definitely pronounced Marill-I-on, it's taken from Tolkien's "The Silmarillion". TBH, you should look at their earlier period stuff when Fish was still in the band, any of it is good. Steven Wilson - definitely. Any Jethro Tull from the '70's, Steely Dan and Supertramp, whose musicianship and production are both unparalleled. Queensryche, particularly Operation Mindcrime. If you're going to do Judas Priest I'd try something from "Stained Class". There's so much out there, looking forward to watching you find it!

Oh do, Ambassadorial Wing! Certainly in their earlier albums they have some of the best examples of twin guitar riff making you'll ever hear - using some quite unique scaling (I've always sworn that Dave Murray used Irish fiddle scales as his inspiration :D).

Now you're teaching me something. Even before you started comparing this song to Rush, I was thinking: "that's the coolest Iron Maiden song I've ever heard". They have alot of songs I like, especially early ones.

Really for me personally you can't go wrong with any of maidens material in their classics 80's period where it was genuinely just classic album after classic album. For me they went off the boil with later albums though some good individual tracks no where near the consistency of the first 7 albums though now a days I can appreciate these later albums more including the Blaze era which I think isn't there best era by any stretch of the imagination by isn't as bad as many try to make it out to be. They were trying new things and for me it's not bad. For me their best album since the classic period is their last album book of souls which is an great effort from an older band and does have the Red and the Black which for me is their best track post 80's. I love with a passion the D'anno era and I would suggest either the classic phantom of the opera or the song Killers but really any will do. Also Thin Lizzy's Black Rose is a brilliant piece of music, Garry Moore's guitar work is phenomenal

A Genghis Khan reaction!!! Think I'm about to burst into tears.. I believe the Killers album to be a hidden gem as a whole. Anyway, if you truly are into hidden Iron Maiden Gems, don't miss out "Infinite Dreams", "Revelations", "Children of the Damned" or "22 Acacia Avenue"( I could actually mention many more) . None of them are back catalogue, but their not your Fear of the Dark either. But my real petition would be "To Tame a Land", one of my favourites, and completely off the radar. And if you happen to know your "Dune", an absolute must.

Big Maiden fan since 1981. Can't remember ever hearing Harris mention Geddy Lee as an influence. Lots of other bassists mentioned as influences -- Pete Way, Entwistle, Chris Squire, mostly Brit bands -- but never Geddy. Hope I'm wrong. I don't believe Maiden and Rush have ever crossed paths over the years, concert-wise or in collaboration, which seems strange.
