Learn how to play Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden on electric guitar! This classic Iron Maiden song appeared on their very first album and is an absolute classic, full of tricky guitar techniques and fast alternate picking! Steve Harris, the founder of Iron Maiden was often quoted as saying this was his favorite song back in early interviews!
Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden guitar lesson starts with a quick melody that contains triplet picked notes combined with some hammer-ons and pull-off, with a sudden change of tempo, leading into a low B note. This melody is repeated 3 times before ascending to some quick arpeggios after the fourth time its played. After that we are into some very fast picking and pull-off techniques combined with some punch power-chords that make up the second intro, before going into the verse riffs! first riff was simpler than i thought. I always thought it started with E then the two notes than the trill lol

Thanks - only issue I have is that if you play the 7-10 riff and following chords at 2-5 on the D string, then there is less frantic jumping up and down the length of the fret board and it feels more natural

play it slow and the speed will come. Iron Maiden songs are the hardest ones in metal to learn next to Death Metal.
