Seeing Ivan just sitting down chilling and calling Tony with two dead henchmen hung at the background, it shows how dangerous and violent Ivan is. Earlier during his prison break out, he snap the guard's neck. He's a genius and a psychopath.

No I think his primary source of strengths are his engineering and technical skills which his scientist father gave him and the persistent struggle with which he grew from his childhood which was kind of given to his father by Howard Stark , Tony's father.

Wow! Ivan definitely wanted revenge. He's a genius in designing the drones and his own Iron suit, which he used to escape Natasha before she can arrest him.

You know: Tony's villains embody his worst qualities: Obie was Tony's Greed, Loki was his Envy, Killian was his vanity, Ultron was his pride, Thanos was his fear of there not being enough, Vanko was his anger. Of all Tony's villains, Vanko was the most like him: genius father, made his own arc reactor, made drones, made his own signature weapon, sense of humor, anger issues, daddy issues and loves fighting.
