Bringing back RDJ would be a huge risk alone solely because of how much they would have to pay him. He isn’t interested in coming back and even if you could pay him, it would probably have to be more than his endgame salary. A lot of people already jumped ship for marvel and even if you could get some of them back from that, I don’t think you will see a level of success that endgame achieved again.

What the article didnt mention is that he would come back in the rebooted mcu after secret wars. They will maybe create a new universe after a huge multiversal war, bringing back old characters who had died off, and maybe a handful of characters remember the previous mcu. Its not like he would just join back into the story after his sacrifice in endgame, its more like he would be reintroduced in a new story.. this is the point im trying to make.

Still, pretty shameless to basically make his sacrifice meaningless since there's infinite amounts of him. The reason Endgame was so hyped was because characters could actually die and stay dead, there's no way they could make any of the multiverse stuff work with that level of hype. Everything would basically become "oh no, Black Widow number 4593 died, guess we'll have to fish another one out the multiverse". Honestly idk where they go from here, by bringing back old characters they both completely ruin the impact of Endgame, AND any future finales, but there's also no other big names left for them to make movies about and eventually use in another finale. They pretty much have to start from absolute 0, maybe carrying over a couple of characters who survived, but using super obscure, random characters rather than already established big names like Iron Man, Thor, Hulk etc.

@@chiefbeef9905 I completely understand the ressurection complaint, like ye death does become meaningless in the sense that they could get a different varient, but I feel like for me personally it doesn't ruin things, like if the story is written well, they can still create high steaks and make you feel for a character's death, like for example (and spoilers for gotg3) the death of rocket's friends from his past hit really hard for me, even had me tearing up and I wasn't the only one, aswell as the rumours that one or more of the guardians would die had me on edge for the rest of the movie so there are still ways they can go about it.. those characters all have varients in the multiverse and could theoretically be brought back, tho the overall consensus from fans is that was an emotional scene. tho I understand the iron man case is a different situation and more tricky. But it is something they do in comics a lot, a lot of people will complain about a certain character being resurrected but once they have brought them back to the story, those comics will sell (Deadpool 3 is expected to do big numbers in the box office next year and it's not because of deadpool). Rdj iron man is the superman of this franchise, its like killing off batman and superman in the DCU, suddenly the biggest draws are gone, I understand why they wouldn't want to keep themselves in that position forever when they really don't need to. They even bring back superman after his death in BvS lol I'm like 95% sure it will happen in secret wars but if you ask me, If the actors are ready, why wait that long, I'd like to see them have the balls to do it sooner, we need the avengers, the team is a mess rn, and the side characters just aren't doing it for casual audiences or even the die hard fans. Theyre in need of hype to carry this franchise, and as much as it may seem shameless, rdj will bring that hype. So on a base level I see how people immediately see it as shameless cash grabby, and I'm not saying its not, but I do understand why they would do it, aswell as I feel like it's the most comic thing to do, at the end of the day they're just comic movies, they're meant to be wacky and fun, like idk I feel like some people take it too seriously when it's not that deep. Comics kill characters off all the time and bring them back and we have been seeing alternate universes in the MCU lately so the OG avengers coming back could be as small of a scene as we got with Mr Fantastic recently. But with the way things go, it will probably just be a soulless money grab qith no creative thought behind it.

Problem is, with the old guard moving on, it was time to start introducing new interesting heroes that non-comic fans may not know. Instead all of the feature-length films have either introduced some boring or mediocre characters or just straight up sequels. All the new stuff has been pumped into the TV shows, which will just naturally have less viewing because the cinema experience is huge for superhero films.

If I were in charge of the MCU at this point I think I’d want to make a Thunderbolts movie out of the premise of both the meta context of legacy characters being retired (like how the comic had villains pretending to be heroic stand-ins in response to an event where the core super hero teams were displaced to another dimension) and with consciousness to how abysmal the general audience regard the current MCU have the Thunderbolts (to great catharsis) wipe the floor with every failed hero Disney has pushed as they make a power grab in their efforts of subverting the establishment of publicly-loved heroes. -and then in the vacuum of real heroes have The Mutants manifest into the world led by Ms.Marvel and scrap together a next generation of Young Avengers. Even make plans to pull some time ripple BS and have Kang pushed further down the line to try again on that character with his comic book origin prophecy fulfilled as he is recast and remanifested to be ripped from said Young Avengers. Just spitballing, a lot of that probably didn’t even make sense to the current MCU because I sure haven’t been watching it myself.

Alternate timelines are only the closest strings of multiverses, especially for momentary events. It would take Watcher level of inherent powers for Strange to see beyond that. In any case Loki confirmed how the MCU timeline was orchestrated to be tight knitted strings with minimal changes that were controlled for everything to happen the way it did by the TVA&Kang but now the spaghetti has spilled with them gone so it's easier to bring in wildly different universes like what we saw in Dr Strange MoM. So no there can be timelines where iron man is alive but just nothing similar to the Endgame timeline. Though it is a horrible decision to bring back a character that had the perfect farewell. They should not cast RDJ if they do bring in some kind of iron man.

Right at the beginning, kinda sad how Now And Then is just known as the "AI beatles song", when in realitythe only thing AI was used for was to seperate Lennons voice and piano into seperate parts to be mixed, nothing to do really with the sound kf the song.
