I love Carrionvoy for 2 reasons: one, as it charges and moves towards you, the background and foreground have the shadows/silhouettes of the other parts of the train moving. Two: because it’s quietly implied that you have been fighting across Carrionvoy’s back throughout the level

The train is obviously based upon a real old 1960s-1980s soviet-era train, though it's hard to say which type exactly, since they look similiar during their technological evolution and the game mixes facts with fiction anyway. Technically. But he is more a vassal for The Meat than its master. The Iron Meat is the true “master”, the the “brain” behind the Meat’s takeover. When the Iron Meat is defeated, it stops controlling or commanding the Meat, leaving it brainless, though still a threat, hence why the ending is the Meat being cleared out. The scientist or Xenobiologist (whichever you prefer), is more of a general for the Meat; a powerful member that commands and masterminds, but still answers to a higher power( The Iron Meat)
