I have been involved in the sport of boxing for almost 25yrs, and I loved Rooney as Tyson's trainer, but Rooney didn't know how to affect Mike mentally and emotionally the way Cus did. Rooney couldn't control Mike either. The only trainer that could've helped Mike's career go in the direction that it was supposed to after Cus was Teddy Atlas! Teddy was the perfect trainer for Mike Tyson. Teddy would've had Rooney as part of Team Tyson too.

Listen guys. In retrospect, holyfield was a very smart cheater. People saw Tyson's ear bitting but experts know how many times holyfield headbutted, low blowed, elbowed, kneed Tyson. Tyson was a simple man. Had to face lot of conspiracy. Holyfield also used steroids. Hair loss, heart condition all show signs of steroids. Tyson on the other hand was clean. So, knowers know that Tyson is the greatest. The best natural heavyweight of all time.

This was unbelievable at the time for a mainstream high ppv selling fight to end by ear bite dq.. Even til this day you havent seen a boxing match this bizarre so a year after, people still cared cuz he wasnt allowed to fight since… And this also ruined his reputation for the rest of his life, he started getting slandered after that fight.. @flipflop43963 жыл бұрын
Mike went empty on his tank in 3rd round, went for all or nothing, went for KO. After he realised it didnt had much effect on Evander. He became frustrated and just wanted to hurt Evander by any means necessary, bite was a act of desperation and way to get out of the fight. Since it would be a 1st fight replay if it went on. So better get disqualified then humiliated again.
@liamkeogh51353 жыл бұрын
@@flipflop4396 It was having an effect on Holy though. Tyson had said himself after 1st fight that he knew Holy was durable and that he’d have to break him down. Holy actually said same about Tyson. That he’d have to put pressure on from round 1 and break Tyson down through the rounds. That’s what happened. Being stopped on your feet in 11th round of competitive fight is no humiliation. Holy is notorious for head buts however for me it was the constant low blows even with his knee, in both fights which would have cracked me up! Tyson clearly won 3rd round and Holy was opting to hold. After Holy got angry after bites he actually lost the exchanges before bell. Tyson fckd it up through rage.
@flipflop43963 жыл бұрын
@@liamkeogh5135 2nd fight would be a replay of the first fight, Tyson knew that after 3rd round. First 3 rounds were always Mikes peak rounda, 90% of his KOs came in first rounds. Tyson said after their first fight that he had no idea how good Holyfield is. Yes Tyson got humiliated, just watch the press conference before the first fight and statments Tyson camp including Mike made, they were saying its gonna be a easy fight for Mike with fast KO. Who would think that Mike would only win 3 rounds out of 14 in both fights. Tyson won 3rd round only because he went for all or nothing, that fight if it went on would ended same way as the first one did.
@liamkeogh51353 жыл бұрын
@@flipflop4396 Maybe it would have but maybe not. If my memory serves me right all Mike said was that Holy was a great fighter but that he believed he was better as he was the best fighter in the world. He also predicted years previous that Holy would beat Buster as Holy was an “Exceptional smaller fighter” and that Buster is a quitter. He said that he takes his beating like a man whereas Buster would quit! That’s exactly what happened. Tyson respected Holy 💯 it’s just that he believed he was the best. So should any champion. Big George thought he would smash Ali and Holmes thought he would swat Michael Spinks. It’s just what happens. Like I say, it’s no humiliation to lose in 11 rounds on your feet to Evander Holyfield. Mike Tyson finds himself in the unfortunate position due to his success that when he loses a tough fight he somehow is no longer a great fighter. This rule only seems to apply to him.
@flipflop43963 жыл бұрын
@@liamkeogh5135 Actually its not a rule. Watch both Tyson vs Holyfield fights just Mikes entrance, you can clearly see how confident he was during entrance of 1st fight and most notably how insecure he was at 2nd fight entrance. It was visible he was intimidated by Holyfield after their first bout. As for 2nd fight Tyson winning it really and honestly were zero to none. Mike simply couldnt do much better than in his first fight. When that fight happened i was cheering for Mike. Mike was cocky during first press conferences especially his managers. At 2nd fight he even brought Steve "Crocodile" Fitch to taunt Holyfield. Tyson was a mountain, bully and force to be reckon with...but if you reject to be intimidated by him and show resistance, he becomes very unsecure, whole that aura of invincibility around him dissapears.

I kind of felt sorry for him, because I think tyson did all this mainly because his ego got hurt very badly somewhere, as a result this was his act of desperation.. Really!! Evander no doubt is a very great fighter too, and he really has got a lion heart!!

In their first fight, Tyson was clearly the one who head butted Holyfield. Honestly, i fail to see how this one looked intentional. Holyfield and other boxers have had to box with deep cuts over their eyes and that from headbutts. Whenever I hear people saying that Holyfield intentionally butts, tbh I think they sound like straight up haters or they've just fallen for the hype. ~ Are certain boxing styles conducive to collisions? Of course, but that's as far as I would take it.

I love how most people keep ignoring the fact one headbutt can end a boxing career . It wasn’t just one head button was multiple times . Yet most keep on straight up ignoring this fact . Since you said he shouldn’t have . lightly hit your head against a solid wall not sheet rock every hit is a headbutt . Keep in mind your a boxer and one hit could end your career . How many times would you allow to be hit ? You tell the ref and he does nothing. Would you not be pissed off ?
