Henry Repeating Arms partners up with CIVILWARE & Kika Worldwide Outfitters to capture the spirit of a traditional whitetail deer hunt in beautiful Alberta Province, Canada with this short film, IRON SIGHTS. Geoff Rowley, a professional skateboarder and avid outdoorsman, and the crew head out by horseback for a trip that distills the hunt and the hunter down to their core essences.
The entirety of the harvest from this hunt was packed out and utilized.

I’m American, of Canadian descent. I love this video. I have a blued Henry 45-70 and I promise you will love it! It’s a blast to shoot at the range. And it’s a great brush gun for deer and bear. Obviously you have much bigger critters up there and 45-70 will do that quite nicely also.

I don't hunt but maybe once a yr. and when I do hunt I wear my jeans and jean jacket and I'm on the ground to hunt. I get what I'm hunting. No camo for me it cost to much and I do fine wearing my jeans, since 1958 at 12yrs old. Go figure.

You will be somewhat pleased Henry made a side loading repeater in 3030 & 38-55 with more to follow. I'm for a 45/70 version as well as in 3006.If they can work with ammo manufacturers to design projectiles that would prevent chain reaction in the tube.

My Henry golden boy was shaving brass of the same cci ammunition when I got it. It stopped cycling rounds entirely. I sent it in, it came back. Worked for about 50 rounds before the same thing. It’s not my first lever gun by far so I doubt operator error. Now I’m going to send it in again and hopefully get a replacement as I believe mine to be defective but is there any tips as to this sir?

So my next purchase will either be 357 or 44 mag Henry big boy steel, I haven't been able to decide. It'll mostly be a range gun, but I may decide to hunt deer later on with it. 357 ammunition is cheaper but 44 mag is more deadly. So can someone help?

Garrett Irwin I’ve owned the big boy in 357 and love it. Even shot it with no ear protection (oops) and that longer barrel real tames the 357. Then shoot 38 wad cutters and really enjoy the sport. I’m a hand loader so I shoot a wide range of loads. Deer...sure why not. I’d prolly keep the deer hunt inside 150 yards, but with practice that could stretch.

I've got a big boy 357 Magnum and I love it 44 magnum is it any more deadly than a 357, both bullets will kill anything they hit so hunting won't be a problem with either one so I'd go with the cheaper ammo.

Thank you so much guys, you definitely helped me make a decision! I'm going with the 357, i have a question though. What are good deer factory loads for the 357? Are the Lehigh Defense extreme penetrators any good? I'm curious if they'd expand enough or just tear through the deer leaving a .35 caliber hole...... Any help would be excepted oh and I've seen the buffalo bore outdoorsman 357 180 grains they give 1300 ftlbs out of an 18 inch barrel.

They will probably be bankrupt or have a new owner soon. I have cracks in 2 of my magazine feeding tubes and the rifles are brand new and Henry will not send me a replacement, they say I have to send it back for them to do the work. Even tho I have pictures or the 3 inch long crack in both brand new rifles. I also have a henry all weather 45-70 that after 2 days 9f deer hunting the magazine feed tube got stuck and that rifle I had probably owned 2 to 3 months with less then 50 rounds through it. There quality control sucks. Not really sure how either rifle got out of factory without someone checking it but reading online seeks like people are having lots of trouble with same issues, even some cracked reciever issues. Sorry but after getting 2 rifles that were had from the very get go made me lose all faith in having Henry fix my rifle. I'm glad browning makes a good 22lr lever action, thinking I'm going to sell all 3 henrys and just buy from marlin for now on or browning. Pretty disappointed with Henry. I thought they were better then this
