Woke up from a dream a little after midnight last night and immediately remembered the record had just dropped. I turned it on and listened to it all night on repeat. Drifting in and out soaking in these new songs took me to a blissful place I haven't felt in awhile. Since getting out of bed and sipping my morning coffee I am now 3 or 4 more playthroughs in. I love it, every song. Can't wait for the show at the Pabst theatre in Milwaukee in June

Just today, listening to this for the first time, I thought "I'd love to be in the studio when this was being made." Props to everyone involved, down to the last woodblock beat, string bow and editing tweak. It may sound effortless, but I can't imagine how one goes about it, making such generous arrangements work and not throw it off balance and/or overproduce it.

Will have to listen to this several times but on first listen I’m wondering if the title light verse is a bit ironic . The poetry in the lyrics here seems more modern and complicated than before . The musical style may reflect that too, especially last 4 or 5 songs . Sam is an amazing artist. I’m listening to the track all our angels go home and i know the more I explore and understand this work the higher my soul will get.
