That’s a really awesome piece of artwork- unfortunately, I only have my phone to listen to this on (don’t worry, I have some really good headphones so it sounds great)- so I can’t see it as large as I’d like to- I’ve got a feeling that there’s a ton of little details in there that would be amazing to look at while listening. Great track, and great choice of artwork, ICA! Thanks for posting and sharing this!

Thanks! Yeah, the artwork is by Pete Amachree. All his art is really good. He gave me permission to use some so I'll be doing some more vids like this. Just gotta assemble the right theme. The pinned link and description has his site if you wanna check out more.

Iron Cthulhu Apocalypse you’re welcome. Thanks I’ll definitely check out his stuff. He’s extremely talented and able to capture the theme for your music perfectly. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. I’ll definitely go check his stuff out plus it probably inspire me to build more miniature models of classic fictional stories. Oh some really good theme are The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Frankstein, The Portrait of Dorian Gray, Dracula, The Phantom of the Opera, etc. but only if you haven’t made them yet.

_„During its descent into the abyssal zone the pressure hull of the german submarine creaked and churned, while seawater slowly but steadily started pouring into the crew compartment. As the waters around them darkened evermore, the crew started noticing strange and artificial looking shapes. It seemed to be architecture, very much unlike anything man has ever created, alien and sinister.“_

I heard this in a nightmare of sorts, maybe cross between a dream, I think. I was in this underwater structure, and it was massive. It seemed really modern like something out of subnautica. Anyways, I was on the lower decks of it, far below the surface where light didn't reach, even the lights were off inside. The only source of illumination were these slowly moving spotlights where the residual light would bounce into the room I was in through the massive windows. I don't quite remember what happens in which order but I think as I was taking this whole place in, I can quite firmly say that the ambience of this place sounded almost exactly like this but that was cut short by the screeching of metal against rock. I rush to the window and one of the spotlights brushes past a submarine that had scraped past the rock face of the seafloor. No idea what happens between the sub incident and my next memory but then I find myself near the upper decks of this building. I'm far above the water, it's night, the full moon is out casting a ghostly light over the calm waves. Despite it seeming so calm, I couldn't shake of the feeling of uneasiness as the sea stretched out forever, no end in sight. Just me, the waves, and the moon. A real ominous part of this story that I can't dismiss is the "shadow people". As I wandered in this structure, there were things like tables and chairs, a clear sign that there was life, or supposed to be anyway. When I scanned over these objects I would sometimes make out these "shadow people", like the figure of a person but shadowy in appearance, like when you don't get enough sleep and you see shadows in the corners of your visoin but when you go to look they're gone. Just like that, they would appear and dissapear. I felt no fear with them, if fact, they made me feel all the more comfortable knowing I was not alone in this seemingly empty mega structure. That's it, my most memorable dream. Thanks for this audio, it matches it well.

I would use it for getting to sleep, but it isn’t long enough. It takes me a long time to fall asleep, and if the music ends while I’m sleeping, it always wakes me up. I need it to be at least 5 hours long- but you’re right- this one would be awesome. And I think it would bring with it some amazing dreams.

When you sit down at your computer and instrument to create this kind of music... do you actually write out parts for this or do you improvise? Like if someone handed you a paper and pen and said write this out musically could you? or is this created in the moment and recorded/manipulated later?

It's all just improv point and click. No writing or even forethought.

@@IronCthulhuApocalypse Very cool, was just curious. I'm a huge fan of yours.
@IronCthulhuApocalypse4 жыл бұрын
Cool. Yeah, I do wish sometimes I would've paid more attention to learning music the "proper" way, though I can (and have) program almost any kind of electronic music fairly well. Ambient, especially dark ambient, is really just where my mind has always been at, unless we're talking Mick Harris's stuff in Scorn, which is basically dark ambient with drums. So, I didn't really pursue traditional stuff.

personally when i make this kind of music its completely improvised, i just let it flow out of me. i dont think about what i want to do or plan out any kind of layout, i just let it come to me as i make it and usually it works itself out. sometimes music makes itself

Cool. Yeah, when I get 10 tracks re-mastered, I'm putting them out there for free on Bandcamp. I should have some new ones up. It's old material but the quality is better. I'm embarrassed of some of the mixing decisions I made in older material so now I'm on a mission to make it perfect before I make some new tracks, though I will make something for an HP Lovecraft themed compilation coming up.

@@IronCthulhuApocalypse That's great ! And for the record I really loved all that Lovecraftian stuff you were doing when I first discovered your music on KZbin. Maybe the production wasn't as professional as it's become - no bad thing - but the moods were just right. Some very bleak and eerie stuff. I'm looking forward to your next giant playlist eagerly ! I'm also glad such a wider audience will have the chance to hear it. So many nights were spent sleeping as those distant moans and shuffling footsteps filled my uneasy subconscious. I'll keep checking for your latest and collecting what I can on Bandcamp.

Teddy Dog Hey, Teddy! Happy to run into you again- I hope that all’s going well with you, that you’re safe and healthy. Everything’s good on this end- perhaps just a little boring- but I suppose that’s better than running around like crazy all the time. Leaves more opportunities to read and do artwork, etc. This track is particularly good, yeah? I’m really digging the art, as well. Odd that no one has mentioned the mines, or the tentacle in the bottom right corner- maybe they just don’t want to get it’s attention.
