@@IronEchoDesign Hey Rick, well I followed your tut using an old design but can't load it yet cause I might have stepped on some ones copyright, but the design is great! thanks. I'm a bit confused about the custom colour palette, I've checked out other vids but while I'm thinking it looks easy I screw it up, "who'd a thunk that?" do you have any vids that cover it? I couldn't see any. Thanks PS I'm getting by without custom palettes but?

Do you mean the squares on the canvas? You can make the color palette with the Squares and Rectangles Tool. Draw open a square for as many colors as you want, and chsnge the fill for each one. I put the color pslette on the canvas for speed during the tutorial. It doesnt exist the first time i make a design, unless i bring in one I've used before.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for teaching us these functionalities I wasn’t even aware of! Always got annoyed with the auto-scaling of strokes by size of objects! And the “objects…” with object layer dropdown is another thing I wasn’t aware of. Was having to do a lot of PowerPoint slide designs for an upcoming talk we do on biodiversity (client demands engaging data visualisation 😪), but once done I’ll be diving right back into Inkscape 🤩🤩🤩 such fun! As always, thank you.

Can you make a video on how does Inkscape deals with colors for printing (CMYK)?
@IronEchoDesign2 жыл бұрын
Now that's a great question. I'll do some more research on the subject. It comes up quite a bit as one of the program's drawbacks. From my experience with Print on Demand at least, the outlets I use have done great with RGB. However, I understand some high end printers and screen printing want CMYK.

Great Tutorial. I'm hobbling through. All my buttons look different. Specifically can't find the snapping guides. What version are you using here? I have 1.0.2-2 (e86c870879, 2021-01-15) which I think it is the latest.
@IronEchoDesign Жыл бұрын
Thanks, and I should update this video. Made this tutorial before the current Inkscape versions were out. Now the snapping guides are in the upper right hand corner, and you have to hit the triangle next to the magnet icon to see all the options. Hope this helps!

Thanks for this fantastic tutorial. I have two additional questions: 1. How do you center the round text, it doesn’t click when I try it. 2. How do you save as .dxf and getting rid of the guide circles in the dxf ? They’re always included. Even when I made them transparent. Thanks a lot!

Yes! Go to View in the very top menu, and in the dropdown that appears look towards the bottom. You'll see choices of Default, Custom, and Wide. Click Custom and that should put the toolbars like I have in this video. Hope this helps!

As the video starts, you already have in a color pallet and design showing on the left. I did not see how you put that in the Color Pallet layer. I tried to follow but am stuck on that. Thanks Perry

You can create a color palette by making the squares with the square tool. If the color codes aren't listed in the description, one option is to screenshot the video and use color picker to fill the squares to match the video. Hope this helps!

HPW DO YOU DO A SCREEN CAPTURE OF THE COLORS?
@IronEchoDesign2 жыл бұрын
Good question. If you're on a PC, you should have a built in tool called Snip & Sketch or Snipping Tool. Click the Windows start icon on the bottom desktop menu and start typing "snip". It should pop up and you can then do screen captures. Let me know if that works!

Hello sir how are you, I hope all is well with you and you family. I have been having problem with my ink stitch Inkscape, I'm using a older laptop could that be the problem it, It runs really slow and when I'm trying to save as it says that ink stitch is not responding. Do you guys have a suggestion
@IronEchoDesign2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I've been there. I have an older laptop that I still use here and there. It crashes my Inkscape too when I try to do more complicated functions. I believe the problem is not enough RAM. There are ways to upgrade RAM on an old device, but at this point I'm probably going to wait until I have a need for a new laptop and go that route. Hope this helps!
