Irons vs Red Dot Accuracy Test

Keep in mind this is just a small experiment. There are a lot of factors that go into placing shots exactly where you want them to go (trigger control, grip, etc.). But there is no doubt in my mind that my shooting has improved since switching to a micro red dot as a sighting system on my handguns. The irons on the G34 & 26 on any given day COULD put up a really impressive group but with the addition of a red dot they are consistently tighter than without. For me I think accuracy is about the same but I seem to be definitely faster with iron sights than I am with a red dot. But I have been shooting iron sights for 40 years and red dots for only 2

Put one red dot on a paintball gun and one without and have a shoot out and use people that never shot a gun! You will find out it takes a lot more training to use a red dot in combat.

Red dots are definitely more accurate , while irons are faster shooting Choose your poison wisely

Doesn't slow you down. Work on a repeatable grip and presentation and you will be fine
