Connectors just do 2 to keep the piece in place. There is a whole separate gang called "detail" or "bolt up" that comes after and stuffs all the holes and often welds the connection to boot. Connectors can't carry that many bolts and all the guns/batteries/cables to get the whole connection done in one go, it's way too much shit to have on you while you're walking the iron. Faster that way, too. Good connector pair can get 100+ pieces in a shift this way.

@@jakobpugh4457 (I know this is a year old comment but...) He pulled out a spud wrench when he only needed to use the bolt. He claimed to have needed to "fight his end in" when it looked to be the easiest connection he could've hoped for... plus I mean... they're 3/4 connections.

Bolts too long probably for moment connections and this guy just grabbed the longest ones just in case because the longer the more useful right? Those are lejunes special bolts maybe they were required on all connections but that is a huge waste of money compared to standard ASME bolts in a standard knifeplate connection like this. They should be communicating like real partners. When you're in the air you need to talk. One person should be the decided first make, or person who makes a bolt first. Then relay your make so your partner can connect his end. Have your bolts taken apart before the beam gets to you. You'll drop some as you learn, but carry extra, because itll make you stronger and more useful. Have your fuckin spud IN YOUR HAND when the evem gets to you. Bring a fuckin small ratchet, that saves me so much time. Gotta suck iron tight? Ratchet. Stuff 2 top and bottom, you dont want to land deck on beams with one bolt in them. Not only is it potentially unsafe depending on bundle weight, but you also help the bolt up guy tremendously with that 2nd bolt. This is lazy af, and this jackoff bought a go pro thinking hes hot shit. This is embarrassing, sounds and moves like he eats pizza every day smokes 2 packs a day and "mY wOrK iS A gYm". You gotta be in decent shape, quick and strong and you gotta get after it if you wanna be a connector. Leave the go pro at home if you work like this, it's an embarrassment to anyone who's a decent ironworker.
