Gotta go back in the vid because I'm confused. Why did Nehemiah want to build the wall and why were the Arabs mad or care about it?

And [Nehemiah] said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? -Nehemiah 2:3 This helps explain why he wanted to build the wall. When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel. -Nehemiah 2:10 This explains why the "-ites" were mad.

A lot of the contention over Jerusalem is based primarily in the hatred of the Jewish people for various reasons.

I mean, I get it. It's fun to explore houses under construction, and obviously you're not there to vandalize, and you don't mean any harm; but it technically is trespassing, and it's not a very good example for your kids. And then if they got hurt on the property, there could be liability issues, though I'm sure as a Christian, you would not sue the property owners since you were trespassing. But we're not to give non-christians ammunition to use against us, especially when we're in the wrong. We're to try to live peaceably with everyone, as much as is in our power. Of course, there will be trials and tribulation; but if we're being persecuted because we're doing something illegal, that's not the same thing. Those aren't the trials and persecutions and tribulations that are being talked about. Other than that, I enjoyed your sermon, and of course I always enjoy Pastor Brett's teachings, as I've been going to Athey Creek for years.
