The more of this channel I listen to, the more I realize the influence Indigenous Amercan music had on popular music. Chord progressions like this on the vocals are still used in soul, r&b, blues, rock and hiphop. I love the channel. Thank you for sharing this important collection of music. I love the fact it's on wax : )

This is wonderful! Thank you. I was raised without my heritage but to visit, see my people, I’m told I look just like my mom who is 100%. I take pride in that aspect💕✨I carry her with me, when I miss her I just look in mirror 🥰😁. Looking to learn more.

I recently got to hear these Social Dance Songs before grand entry at Akwesasne Pow Wow. It brought back so many memories of singing these songs as a child growing up in Niagara. My father listened to the old songs from the 50's and 60's on an old reel to reel player. So beautiful to hear these songs again.

That sounds like someone messed up somewhere cus I know our relations were over there as well. Ojibwe. Odawa, Bodewadmik. Our nations all were allies seems strange to cut our people out of the traditional places of our ancestors.
@Swagmaster116911 ай бұрын
I think the Delaware’s and mohawk’s were connected. Have to remember that Christianity & the white man’s system in Canada really damaged Iroquois systems

Only thing that annoys me is that some non confederacy people say that our confederacy people only came about just before Columbus lmfao. Yet we are tens of thousands years old

The Confederacy has existed forever, just like our people.
