I f you add red it will turn more purple you have to sand back the black to actuate the flame. Then a nice high gloss will bring out everything

I can't see why you did all that work with it being purple and then covered it with black.

He made several other errors in using the Zpoxy and slapping on way too much finish! It was dripping all over the place. Spray guns or at minimum spray cans will be much better, and way less work sanding . It's one of those "How not to" videos.

I did an epoxy job over wood stain onces, without sanding sealer, the effect was great however the stain dribbled all over the plastic binding so that wasn't so good :-)

Just take a brush and paint it black next time.
