I know the feeling. I've been into this stuff since i was little! Around that time Nelson only had the fast reverse big guns. My favorite was the big P200 gun that was on many travelers at the time. Seeing that gun run and the distance it had was unreal. I have my own collection now. I have all of Nelsons fast reverse guns (they are all complete and working except my P200 which is needing stops for part circle. I have a dual 7.5HP transfer pump setup and i installed a custom ring nozzle from the hardware store on my 200 and it ran decent enough (i'd say it was a .90" or .95" size) Now i need to find some stops for it, which is going to be hard because theyre rare unless you run into someone selling a gun for parts. I've always liked the old pivots with brass impacts down the pipe and a FR gun at the end. I've even seen a few pivots with dual guns at the end meant for catching corners. I'm 45 now and I love when summer comes around I can start playing and making videos to share with enthusiasts on here. I'm into all 3 types of irrigation, residential,commercial and agricultural, but mostly into ag. I hope some day to get a big PTO pump and engine so i can run my big guns with more power!. Hope your son has fun with his hobby. It keeps me sane thats for sure!

Does the machine the roller is on take the gun the entire length of the field? Will it roll the pipe back up properly on the return trip? Not counting the cost of the well, approximately what is the cost of a setup like this?

Yes Cost per machine is around 50,000CAD Well would probably cost another 50k to drill Then the cost of the pump , mainline and risers It’s not cheap !!

Homer.S we have 8” mainline, 45hp pump from well-running 135-140psi at the real, and 85-90psi at gun ours also is a Nelson 150
