The IRS could really streamline things by leaving the rest of us alone and just focusing on the members of Congress, the Supreme Court, and the Executive branch and all the lobbyists and corporations they are associated with.

I paid 1500 in 2021. Still got a notice of non payment. I called the irs and they sent the notices before reconciling the payment 🤦

I am too. I'm also really tired of hearing about giant corporations, who's CEOs make hundreds of times what their employees do, yet pay no fed income tax. I'm sick to death of people who make many more times than I do, who can hire a cpa who knows the intricacies of the tax code, and use legal deductions and other loopholes to reduce their tax bill to less than mine.

No purpose I. Paying taxes when our money is not being used for our benefit. It is going to Ukraine and Israel. How about we fix the schools in the inner city, give grants to fix homes in distress, fix roads, and make beautiful infrastructure in the worst cities, or pay for free preschool.

600 dollar rule will get the IRS on ya. 2023 filing is gonna be a banner year for the IRS. Lotta money changes hands in cash apps. That's rarely reported to the IRS.

If the IRS is to become useful and efficient, it needs to be trimmed to the barest possible minimum. Tax returns need to be simplified so they take 3 or 4 minutes to complete and include zero deductions. If your gross income is in a particular bracket, you pay that bracket's designated percentage to the fed gov whether you're an individual, a church, a small business or a giant corporation.

I know a lot of people that does not file taxes. I work in financial aid at a university n it’s so many parents that are not filing taxes. It cause issues for students trying to get aid.

That is not a reason to not file or pay taxes. A yearly student aid amount is not equal to the amount of taxes owed for a family it is far more. Not a reason to evade paying. If it is happening as a financial advisor you have a duty to report fraud.

Actually you are dead wrong. I owned a business and you are completely wrong. If you knew how much a large business pays in every year you would be sick to your stomach. Now business that perform certain actions for the government get breaks but most corporations get hammered. Businesses pay between 35 and 50% of their income. Most people making under $40,000 pay in maybe 12%. Alot of them get more money back in their refund than they payed in. It is true that a company owner may pay zero out of their personal income but if you run a business that only grosses $250k a year that leaves the owner $175k to pay wages and insurance. I have known plenty of business owners that are lucky to take home $50k at the end of the year.

I grossed $84k in 2022 and payed $18k in federal withholdings and and got $2500 back!!! My frickin neighbor has 2 kids and a fastfood job, gets food stamps, nearly free healthcare under minority status and section 8 housing! Gets $8k back!!! WHAT THE HELL!!!! Don't pay to be a white guy working 60-70 hours a week! I have a family the relies on me alone!! I can't afford insurance or healthcare of any kind!! The alphabet agencies can be shut down as well as all of the wellfare and extracarricular agencies!!!

Looks like Everybody wants to enjoy this debt relief & forgiveness $ the situation has become so grim.
