-Shown here are four trains. Two (2)s and Two (5)s in Bronx, NY.
-Due to (4) suspension (construction), Some R142/A (4) sets were running on the (5) for extra service. (5) Replaced (4) between E. 149th St and Utica Ave/New Lots Ave, and (D) and Shuttle Buses provide service between E. 149th St and Woodlawn.

I always liked the announcement on the R142's versus the R142A's. The R142A's sounds very robotic. I wish the MTA would've considered using the announcer that is the voice of the 2 for all newer subway cars. She sounds delightful to the ears.

David Maine That's a no-go. The woman for those announcements practically fell off the map years ago. Sad to say, I do agree for certain routes (7, A, C, F). In my opinion, anything not Broadway-7 Avenue or listed here should go to Jessica, the woman for Lexington Avenue.

@davidmaine As a NYCT Train Operator I operate in the A. Division (number trains, and G.C. Shuttle) for those of you who don't know. I LOVE the announcer on the 2 train vs. the one on the 4, and 5 lines. I must agree with you on that. But most of all! I LOVE flying into Freeman st. Southbound like some of those trains are doing!!! Anyway great video!!

The station to be stored to its original beauty. Those cheap white lamps should be removed and replaced with the original lamps. The original lamps are still around in the Simpson Street stop.

It's very cool and rare to see this.. But what was the point ? Why didn't they just use the r142s instead? What was the special reason for the usage of the r142a ? (just curious)

Since the (4) train was not running that weekend. Suspended completely (which is rare) and a few other weekends, they needed extra equipment to handle the load on the East Side Line. So some (4) R142/As were sent on the (5) to handle it.

Nope! R188 only runs on the (7) line.
