Idk what it is with new producers but it seems like melodic sounds are making a comeback in hip hop and in more mainstream music in general. There was a good few years where music was not very melodically intense and it lead to some really boring and somewhat repetitive beats and songs. But with this new surge of movies and animes using trap style beats such as killmonger's theme in black panther and overhual's theme in My Hero Academia, big time music producers and composers are seeing what a melodic trap song/ost can do. I know this song may not be as intense as other masterpieces because it's original purpose is to be a steady background for rappers to make there rhymes into a rythem, but songs like sicko mode are going to change hip hop forever in the fact that beat switches allow for a different type of rapping that allows an artist to make a song and use different melodies and flows to make a banger. This is truly a new era of music.
