Both of the VAs for Irumi did such a great job, they sound girly enough for people in the manga to be convinced he's a girl, yet they still sound like boys trying to be a girl. I don't know how to describe it, but they still sound like guys.

I'm normally a dubber, but sadly this is one of the animes where sub for me was better. Sullivan and Opera are great examples. Sullivan has his serious voice but he has an adorable voice as well. When he says Iruma-kun in enthusiasm it sounds adorable and expressive. It didn't come off too well in Dub. Due to Opera's gender being ambiguous the voice in Japanese comes off really well because it's like "Well, what is he/she/they". So ya, this is one of the few anime I watch sub lol.

I actually do both sub and dub. If I am multi-tasking I listened to the dub version but if I am on my 100% attention and focus I prefer to watch it with sub because it kinda felt awkward watching the dub one😅😂✌️

??? Female VAs play young male characters all the time. It's not a "lack of seriousness", it's puberty. Men have much deeper voices than boys. Ayumu Murase is notable precisely because he can do a convincing young male voice.

As good as Laura Stahl is in this role, I still think Justin Briner doing his Midoriya voice would've been a better fit. Iruma is called "Blue Izuku" by the English fandom for a reason. Even his Japanese voice sounds almost exactly the same as Midoriya's.
