Irv is one of those guys that will never get his due. People forget how big Ja and X were. Irv is one of the biggest influences behind those artists. I know 50 came in and is credited for ending Ja's career, but Ja was the biggest guy in hip hop at one time. Ja's first two albums were fire. DMX was a movement. I was nineteen years old when X popped. DMX changed perception. I love Jay Z, but I don't think Jay was ever as big as X was in his prime. Irv Gotti is a genius.
@bluesman78654 жыл бұрын
The difference between Jay and X is that X only had those 3 huge Albums. After the third Album his success was over...but Jay had more than 3 huge Albums and his career wasnt over After 5 years
@shortfuse754 жыл бұрын
Bluesman 78 I agree with you wholeheartedly. I just think when X was in his prime, he was bigger then Jay Z has ever been. I know that’s saying a lot. Jay is no slouch and has definitely had a longer career on the top. X was a flash in the pan compared to Jay’s career.

I don’t think people forget Irv and murder inc in general, I just think people follow narratives and ever since 50 n Em destroyed murder inc the narrative was irv and ja and murder inc r all irrelevant n therefore no one cares about all they accomplished. Honestly Eminem is my favorite rapper of all time and back in the day I was definitely on 50s side BUT I give Irv his respect and don’t think it’s fair that he doesn’t get his just due when it comes to hip hop and all he accomplished. Even back in the day when he worked with dmx, ja, Jay z n all that.

I don't think people today realize how important Irv was to this culture or how lucky if not brave to stand tall & win against the Feds who have a high conviction rate as is. The brother got a raw deal from the industry, the feds, & the fans as many of them jumped on the 50 hype train who has dissed Ja Rule for singing on his record something he soon did himself. If anything look at this comment section...dollars to donuts many of them were Ja-Rule fans before the 50 beef at which point it seemed like making fun of Ja was the wave.

Mr. Marshall the song isn't for our age group, this is what the kids listen to and how they talk with their boys. We aren't going to like everything these kids say or do, just like our parents didn't. To be honest our age group started all this smoke weed stuff so we can't fault them for using the same lines as the past. At least this kid is trying to do something with his life outside of running up in someone's pockets.

@infamousbarz12716 жыл бұрын
Young King you just said you think, so how can we take your comment seriously? 50 didn't beat em up, he swung on Ja, then they fought a little, 50 got stabbed by Black Child. You can even look up the 50 interview, he says the studio was too small they couldn't even move, he said Ja had a mini Louiville Slugger in his hand, and he 50 was trying to get a gun he had in his coat pocket. The lights got turned off, 50 got stabbed by Murda Inc, got stiches, he even lifts his shirt in the interview. He then goes to say, it would have been a different story if he had gotten his hand on his gun.
