Whew, this game's story and presentation is insane . While the setting is futuristic, I think the worst part is that characters felt awfully realistic in their emotions and choices which makes everything they go through even more painful. Still, the game is good to experience despite the pain. On a separate note, the jaw pain is definitely worth checking out when you have more time, IRyS. I have gone through TMJ pain myself after tearing the muscles while yawing really wide one morning. I wore an initial mouth guard for months, and then alignment trays for years to heal my TMJ muscles and get my teeth straighter so the problem doesn't happen again. It was a lot of pain, money, time with visits and wearing things on my teeth most days, but it was worth it in the end to finally get it fixed. Anyway, I wish you the best

Hearing Curly's wails as you move around the ship was honestly terrifying, it's what settled in the reality of it for me, and it's just the beginning. They made it painfully obvious Curly got to see it all unfold, trapped in by his best friend's actions, and as the responsible for his crew, he was probably feeling remorse for everyone all this time even as wounded as he is already And I actually cried when Daisuke had to be dispatched, and worse realizing he was forced into it... knowing what Anya had to go through feels so bad too... This crew was unfortunate in everything. I never expected to feel so distressed watching you play anything, but it also goes to show this was an actually really good game for it. It was truly depressing! But I... loved it? Same as you I guess Also, I realized I wouldn't have enjoyed this as much if it wasn't for you voicing it! You're so good at conveying dialogue and you point out a lot of stuff I wouldn't have noticed too! I love watching you play games like this! And your red nose Nephilim song lifted my festive spirits like nothing else! All your past christmas karaoke really were very special occasions for me and I feel happy just remembering it, the thing I look forward the most to around this time! Love you, my oshi! Not gonna lie 17:00 was one of the best noise I heard from youstill makes me laugh. I played the demo of the "Mouthwashing" during one of Steam Fes quite some time ago and decided it was must-play for me but not gonna lie still feel like I wasn't prepared. I made the same mistake like with Soma finishing the game before the sleep but this one keep awake a longer with how depressing it was so I feel ya about getting emotional about stuff in fiction. The most disturbing thing about the game is how realistic characters was. Some ppl are not aware that there many like Jimmy, a walking ticking bombs that one day will do something really "bad" cause of frustrations with life and feeling that world is to blame. Or dysfunctional fathers like Swansea...I'm one of the few that don't really feel hate towards any characters in this game. Anyway that was unnecessary tangent. Happy to hear you are planning to continue the "Alien: Isolation"can't wait! Hope the jaw pain goes away and good luck with recordings and stuff! Otsu!

The fact that people continually say the ending was bad proves that the author failed to turn their vision into reality. It's clear that at the climax Jimmy is supposed to have a revelation and make one final attempt at redemption, but the fact that the majority of the audience doesn't buy it demonstrates a failure of writing skills.

4:08:33 Swansea attacked because he knew Jimmy was planning to kill him. The reason Jimmy went straight for the gun was because he found out Anya told Swansea about Jimmy forcing himself on her, and he didn't want Swansea to tell anyone. The moment he noticed Jimmy going for the gun he attacked. The cockpit scene happened, and Jimmy used the pipe to knock Swansea out, used the rope to tie him up and used the gun to kill him.

I think the most depressing part of this game is that you have no choice when faced with sad situations(or just turn off the game). You can only follow the instructions the game given, even if you don’t want to hurt anyone . (After this stream, I still need some time to recover from the sad mood. It's crazy that Irys figured out Jimmy was the actual culprit because she completely forgot what Jimmy's psych eval said. Curly just said "I want to know about you and the horses" so Irys assumed Jimmy was scared of horses and linked it to the beginning sequence. Her dementia was helpful!

Curly's mistake was being overly kind and cowardly, only saying in front of the everyone that he would help solve the problem, but doing nothing. Jimmy are just jealous of Curly, and he doesn't think it's his fault when he does anything wrong，he will blame others for things that are all his fault..

thanks for the stream, irys! im actually surprised how quickly you saw through the story, though the way you got there was... peculiar. since you asked multiple times "whats wrong with jimmy?", my take on it is (and im hoping youtube doesnt eat my comment again): Jimmy has some kind of psychosis (or something the like), an actual, untreated mental illness. anya kind of hints at it during some dialog, that something isnt right with him, even besides him BSing the answers. also the instances of words appearing on screen for a split second might be a visualization of voices in his head. many years ago i was fortunate enough to be able to visit a forensic psychiatry (jail for people with proven mental issues/disorders) with a school course and we could talk to one of the patients there. it was a young man who had killed his grandfather. he described to us how it was for him, how - over the span of months - the voices in his head told him that his grandpa has it out for him. the voices also grew more insistent over time, until finally, he couldnt take it anymore. iirc he also said to us that now, with the treatment hes receiving, he does regret what he has done, but that at the time, it absolutely seemed like he had no other choice. thats why i think jimmy might've also had moments of clarity, when he was cowering outside the cockpit and possibly in the very end. another thing is that curly might've very likely enabled him in the past, always excusing his behavior and working out ways for him to get out of trouble, instead of recognizing there is something wrong with his friend and getting him help. heck, curly himself might've not been entirely okay, thats also something a few lines of dialog hint at.
