I’m been throwing 14LBS for about a year now, and I definitely see a difference. I have more control then I did at 15.

I started throwing 14 a couple months ago and I like it so far. Its helped my ball speed and I feel like I can stay under the ball more consistently. Like you guys said I look at the RG/DIFF numbers and looked for ones with small differences

I made the switch to 14lbs this year and couldn't be more pleased.
@lonestarpatriot876Ай бұрын
I switched from 15 to 14 due to injury and I have bowled better ever since. I had my reservations but those have all been eliminated. If you do so, make sure to pay close attention to the RG and Differential numbers.

How many variables in bowling a 10-pins in the pit strike? As many variables as in chances to win Powerball?
@DrCaptainMorgan Жыл бұрын
I use a 14lbs strike ball and then a 10 lbs plastic spare ball mostly for 10 pins only and it helps allot. Bowl two handed.

For Miles w the finger skin problems, like the guys kinda said, if u like the inserts tight but don't like what they do to ur fingers def tape them. I have good fingertip pad burn on my ring finger mostly. Was getting very dark purple and felt like a sun burn after bowling 3 4 days a week. My span is @ 16th" longer then "normal" ( I belevie Barnzy's is also) which i like much more then by the book. I changed my pitch once to help the burn but I felt like I had to grip the ball so went back to old pitch. Tape fixes it. The tape and style Verity Crawley's vid shows both work the best for me. Tried couple diff tapes and diff ways to apply it. Crawleys works best overall.

I used to throw a 16lbs strike ball and a 14lbs spare ball 10+ years ago because I liked the Hustler Pool Ball in the 14 better than the 15 LOL. Let's just say my spare % is 90+% now versus whatever it was back then LOL!

Hi - I have a question. I am able to handle a 13 lb & 14 lb ball. I’m going to buy the HUSTLE M & M. My question is which weight should I buy? Many thanks in advance for both your advice and assistance
@BeefandBarnzy21 күн бұрын
If you can handle both somewhat equally, I would lean towards the 14lbs. I think once you go below 14lbs the ball are way less mainstream, so it is harder to find what you need. Also the lighter the ball, the further away from true design intent of the product, as the weight limitations make it hard to allow core integrity.

I quit bowling for 15 years, come back, I'm 42, now I use 14 for my spare ball and dry lane balls because by the time they're dry Ill be tired and also I'll need more ball speed.

First time I’m seeing this show. Makes me a little sad that it didn’t exist 20 years ago when I was obsessed with bowling and didn’t have a source for this kind of info. But anyway, I’m glad it exists now. Better late than never.

I have used 14 lb for 15 years, all of my 300s (3) were 14 lb and my recent 2 months ago 299 was 14 lb I'm 75 so no need to wear myself out :-) I bowl 20 games a week 3 leagues and practice

I tried 14. Couldn’t throw it any faster than I do my 15 so I ended up throwing nothing but 15.

So when they change to the longer patterns do they use the same volume of oil on that longer pattern or does it vary? I'm just curious if the lanes breakdown even more or is it just because people are burning everything up and the carry down changes so much quickly? I'm such a novice.
@BeefandBarnzy Жыл бұрын
They often actually use less oil on long patterns. This is why the transition in the fronts is so fast

I bowled like Daugherty (and Mike Miller) back in the 90s. I never had a problem with fingers, wrist or arm. The biggest factor in bowling that way is getting your quads a lot stronger because you have to get lower at the line. I just started back after over 20 years and use 15 lb with my thumb in and 14 with my thumb out.
@SofaKingdom-pd4ew6 ай бұрын
I started bowling thumbless back in like '94 I believe? I was like 14 when I started experimenting with it after topping out at a 150 average and never being able to figure out how to hook the ball with my thumb in. I took to bowling without my thumb much quicker than I thought I would. Almost immediately felt comfortable. The next year of league I brought my average up to a 177. Next year I bowled my first 300. Now I'm in my mid 40s and still bowling thumbless after multiple coaches told me "you'll never be able to bowl like this 20 years from now". Feels nice to prove them wrong lol. Now I have toned down my rev rate, mainly for consistency and accuracy. Used to put everything into my throws, try to hook it gutter to gutter. Wasn't very consistent but man I loved throwing pins and messengers everywhere. Now I'm probably down to about 500 RPM, which is still plenty, but honestly I don't care about pretty strikes anymore. I want to be able to repeat shots and hit my mark. I'm debating dropping down to 14 just so I can get another mile an hour on the ball without having to put everything behind it. Mainly just for when the lanes dry out and I don't want to keep moving left.

I’ve been using 14 pound balls for a few years now. The math says 14 hits the hardest. I’ve gotten some sloppy strikes with lots of pin action. I can also muscle up a little when necessary.

So what is the issue with the TNT? With refinishing per the latter reviews from Storm, it seems to be a good ball as demo’d by Beef & CDB. Why is it seemingly being shunned by the PBA bowlers. I can never seem to tune in while the show is live.
@chugalingus4642 Жыл бұрын
It's all personal preference and core numbers. It's as simple as that. I own several 14 pound balls, as well as 15 pounds. I personally execute infinitely better with 15 pounds. I have more speed versatility with 14 pounds, but I prefer to execute as well as I can.
@stompingpeak2043 Жыл бұрын
Idk about that. Sure if you make a great shot that's all that matters. If you're a human then there's something more to the weight. Think physics here. Sure you may throw it slightly faster but not that much faster. Yet you lose out on the potential energy of the actual ball with a reduction in weight. So your light carry and lucky taps will happen much less with a lighter ball. I've experienced alot of punching through the pins with a 14 where I'll get a 5 or 6 count with a relatively close shot. Where this almost never happens with a 15 or 16. The best pro for lighter weight is the actual weight and how it relates to your physical condition. If you're not strong enough to really get under the ball then reducing weight should help you avoid releasing on the side or over the top.

The 15 vs 14 myth was busted a long time ago, but “conventional” thinking and ego for typical league bowlers still dominate.
@toddzehr203 Жыл бұрын
@@stompingpeak2043A modern bowling ball has the technological advancement to perform well even in a lighter weight. Being able to throw a lighter bowling ball harder can make up for the momentum caused by the greater weight of a heavy ball. I've thrown 14 and 15 and prefer the 14 for more accuracy and repeatability.
@stompingpeak2043 Жыл бұрын
@@toddzehr203 no. Tech will not make up for this. You shouldn't be throwing your lighter ball that much harder anyway. The key for people going down in weight is so they can say under the ball more easily. Along with doing the whole yoyo thing with less pressure on the hand. It's not to throw the ball harder.

My suggestion to Antraxu11 in Germany would be to go to bowling center in Tilburg in the Netherlands. They have video supported training by Kegel trained professionals.. helped me with my timing and release. Last time I was there they had a weekend program for non-professionals..

I felt like that, until I tried 15lbs in December. Feel like I can get my hand into a much stronger position at release. And that mostly makes up for any loss of hit, from the reduced weight.
