Dear Sir, Can you tell me which grade will be used when the charpy text value is 27 J AT -30 deg. C? Except SS
@pranab774 Жыл бұрын
Basically as per BIS ,where at the end "C" is mansion like "IS 2062 E 350 C, or E250 C,or E450 C etc" ,then impact test is mandatory at minus 20 degree centigrade , where as so some customer have specific requirement like in CATERPILLAR Company there specific requirement in their standard 1E1863 the impact test is 27J in minus 29 degree centigrade, mostly where these plate are used in extremely cold area like alaska then it is mandatory impact test in minus 20, or minus 30, and minus 40 degree centigrade

@@harshadrohit8456 Low-temperature carbon steels, sometimes known as "LTCS," are carbon steel grades that are frequently subjected to impact testing at low temperatures, such as -30 degrees Celsius. Astm A333 Grade 6 for seamless pipes and ASTM A516 Grade 70 for pressure vessel plates are two common grades that come within this category. These grades are appropriate for use in cold situations since they are created to preserve their toughness and ductility even at low temperatures. Remember that precise criteria may change depending on the norms and laws that apply in various Industries or places.

It depend on use, where more flexible or elasticity required there E250 is better, but where more strength required there E350 is better, but for rusting both are same, there need stainless steel, or more chromium required for rust prevent.

First You have to see customer drawing, many times there is some specific requirement given in drawing in here it's a general for all IS grade is mention, but some other grades are also in there like DIN standard,JIS standard, Caterpillar standard ( IE spec), etc Then you have to Know root of iron making process which is also mention in Mill TC TDC (Technical delivery condition) from your company or customer with Steel manufacturing where each and every parameters given to Steel manufacturing company to make plates. These are some basic points to follow
