RAVIX There's new school rappers that I do like but most of them are underground and they have talent unlike these mumble rappers that have no talent at all.
@nickiwoa79486 жыл бұрын
Makaveli 7Dayz Lil Pump, Smokepurpp, Travis Scott actually do have talent but not lyrically. They have the talent to carry their vibe and aesthetic to every beat, production skills, etc. They're in a complete different sub-genre, and cannot be compared in hip hop. I would think grunge and punk music is more related than gangsta rap to trap music. It isn't at all about impact of words, It's about the vibe, flow, banger level, and the instrumental production in the actual song itself. Travis Scott doesn't pride himself on his lyrics about popping pills, but he prides his music in his incredible production and arrangement of sounds and his blend of heavy metal, trap, rock, funk, etc. You can't disregard an entire generation of new music because they mumble. Look deeper bro, it's actually possible to find actual good "mumble rap".
@makaveli7dayz1726 жыл бұрын
Nick Iwoa People like u are the reason why mumble rap is popular, those mumble rappers u named have the same style, same flow, same beats, they don't use Any type of smooth wordplay, metaphors, delivery, storytelling, subject matter, substance, multisyllabic rhymes, rhyme schemes and alliteration, what happened to the days when mc's would battle each other on tha mic to determine who's the beat mc? The reason why that stuff does not happen anymore its because of brainwashed niggaz rather listen to mumble rap over lyrical rap this is a sad generation we live in, mumble rappers don't care about the art of rap and they don't respect it and they also don't respect old school rappers that came before them, I hate mumble rap with a passion I wish it just die but that may not happen it's because how fucked up this generation is, let me ask u something, 5 or 10 years from now are u still going to be listening that wack shit? #Fuck Mumble rap.

Yeah he made the music, but like Prince it was in the vault not released. Anything he actually put out while alive smokes 99% of anything out period. His charisma and delivery was second to none. When 2PAC spoke everyone listened. Hard for anyone to have a legit argument against 2pac being the goat. Rip Pac the world misses you!

Tupac might have not been the first person to do shit such as being an actor or poet or the stories that he was telling, but he was the one that elevated all his craft to the next level in inspiring people to follow ina similar pattern in his footsteps. As far as lyricism goes Lyricism it’s a never ending battle because at the end of the day it’s all subjective. It depends on what you went through and what u can identify with what the rapper is saying.However, lyricism maybe one of the most important things but it’s not the most important thing. The most important thing to be the GOAT is how if u changed culture, making people follow and be inspired by ur blue print, and how you changed music and the world forever. Tupac is the GOAT period.

I’m so tired of the disrespect Pac gets. His music is timeless. He made an enormous impact on an extremely short space of time. Pac was prolific, he gave us 3 great albums. Was the biggest rapper in the world before he died. Could pac win a rap battle vs the likes of Big, probably not. But even as someone who loves that gritty NY style, lyricism isn’t just about clever word play and metaphors. Pac’s delivery, the passion he emoted with the words in his music was extremely powerful. He was inconsistent with his message, but people need to remember he was a 25 year old kid who went through a ton of shit good & bad in his short life. Any real artist will have contractions and duality in their message and their lyrics because all people are walking contradictions, who experience a diverse range of emotions and perspectives during our lives. You could take PAC’s best 10 songs and put them up against absolutely anyone. He’s the goat to me. He doesn’t have to be the goat to you, but the disrespect he gets sometimes drives me nuts.

Tupac died in 1996. Here we are in 2018 and A new generation reflects Tupac vision of hip-hop. In order to understand why Tupac is the greatest hip hop artist, you had to live in that time. The ora around him had Presidents commenting on him from the White House. The Politician c Delores Tucker was going after Tupac. Trying to literally destroy him. It wasn't just about the music. His defiance to the end. He cast a shadow that is still being felt today.

The fact that the girl said Tupac wasn't consistent with his music? GIRL. Tupac died at 25. He was still a young man going through a rough upbringing and had to deal with the politics of the music industry. How she gonna downplay records like Brenda' s Got a Baby, Changes, Dear Mama, Life Goes on. THOSE ARE HUGE songs that raises social awareness and the dichotomy in our society between the rich and the poor. That girl on the right straight up giving me a headache by saying his lyricism wasn't strong. It was one of the strongest. She said nobody talks about Tupacs music like Big Pun's music that right there was enough for me to be like this girl don't know what she's talking about.

My point is that when people claim that 2pac wasn't always politically conscious, which is partially accurate, the song "Changes" is used as an example to contest that claim. I'm saying if 2pac had a consistently political agenda, that song would've probably been released if he could help it, but I don't think it complimented the direction he was trying to go in as an artist at the time it was recorded.

Theres two kinds of people who listen to Pac, Those who FEEL his lyrics and those who just simple listen to the song. He is the GOAT to those go FEEL his lyrics. The cadence in his voice, his ability to verbalize the emotional suffering incited by mental illness and poverty. The only other person that has became remotely close was Eminem. You see, Pac was ahead of time, the progressive rappers of the era were focused on social change, whereas Pac promoted self healing. He spoke of thoughts of depression and suicide in a time where those subjects were considered taboo and unmanly. Pac gave the gangsters the permission to suffer even if it was only for 3 minutes of a song. "Back in elementary, I thrived on misery Left me alone I grew up amongst a dyin' breed Inside my mind couldn't find a place to rest Until I got that Thug Life tatted on my chest" -So many tears-Tupac Thug life was the distraction from mental illness. "A place to spend my quiet nights, time to unwind So much pressure in this life of mine, I cry at times I once contemplated suicide, and woulda' tried but when I held that 9, all I could see was my momma's eyes No one knows my struggle, they only see the trouble Not knowin' it's hard to carry on when no one loves you Picture me inside the misery of poverty No man alive has ever witnessed struggles I survived Prayin' hard for better days, promise to hold on Me and my dawgs ain't have a choice but to roll on" Thugz Mansion

Pac is greater than my top 5 all time list. They are all rappers to me. Pac for me is one of the great leaders that changed the course of history. I look at him like I look at political, spiritual leaders that revolutionized their communities they were in. His music is a reminder and constant reflection of that...
@alaza616 жыл бұрын
That's going too far. How did he change the coarse of history? Nelson Mandela, Dr. King, Ghandi, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman...but 2pac? How is that?
@grinchoi16 жыл бұрын
Influence. Just like when Malcolm X spoke he influenced the minds of a generation of people. The FBI/Cointelpro kept tabs on him for a reason. I also believe he was setup by government agents posing as gang members. Plus look where Martin Luther King, Gandhi and Malcolm X were at 2pacs age. The great people you mentioned obviously lived longer than him so their overall impact was probably greater but I believe his thoughts at that young age were far more advanced than many. Its not just him either. His lineage and the Black Panthers come from that same cloth that Malcolm X and other revolutionaries came from. Plus a lot of the things he did silently to help other people are now being brought to light by personal accounts and the media did nothing to cover any of that. He had an actual plan of action at such a young age to change society but it got cut short.
@alaza616 жыл бұрын
+Ali Chaudry None of that has anything to do with what I said. He doesn't have to be in anyone's top 5, and there are respectable opinions that justify that.

Perception is everything. Often people’s assessment of Pac comes from a marginalized perception of him within a constrained time frame. Pac was really only relevant (while alive) in the hip hop community for roughly 6 years (92-96). On that alone there are two ways to perceive this. Many give him high praise for the amount of impact and great music he put out in that short time span and mind you it was all while he was in his early 20’s. Others might dismiss him due to his lack of longevity, and “bonafide” classics, or highly touted lyricism (another argument in itself). Ultimately it’s what you wanna believe about him. Personally he’s the ARGUABLY the goat

Pac is one of the best. but I disagree on how you think he is "The Goat", Tupac is amazing and he has changed many peoples lives and changed the way hip hop is back then but there are way more better rappers then Tupac, Like Nas, Eminem,Eazy-e, and I don't know if we are talking about back then but I feel like xxxtentacion should be on this list because his music changed the way people feel and what they feel about him because he changed so much and did alot for charity and I know I'm going off topic but I would like to hear your opinion on all this and the person who I really think is the goat is really. Eminem and my reason for that is because when he was just starting rap and getting popularity and everything and every song that I've heard of him is amazing or decent but thats just my opinion on who Is really the goat and if you don't like Eminem. I'm not going to get upset of triggered but I just wanted to share my opinion because I would love to hear what everyone has to say about this and who you really think is the goat and yet again. we all have our opinions and at the end of that day if you disagree I still love you. thank you and bye

I wouldn't be surprised if muthafuckas come and start saying shit about Michael Jackson. Pac had great lyrics and was a lyricist for his time. Today, rap had developed more and evolved, which is why she might say he was mediocre. But she is just downplaying Pac like crazy in this video. Nobody said anything about Pac being the first rapper who was in to acting or did poetry and anything like that. Frankly, who was the first or second or last doesn’t even matter. What was the point of even bringing that fact up. Tupac is indeed one of the greatest MC’s of all time, regardless and deserves his respect and title. Yes, there were rappers better than him, overall. But that doesn’t mean treat him like a non-factor because he’s talked about a lot. Because people says he’s a GOAT. They claim he’s “overrated” for a reason. Lol. He did have the biggest impact and everyone knows who he is because of it.

To be really be the GOAT you need above all else the hearts and minds of the people. Pac brought in his songs the passion and drive of the youth at it's most primal but could lace within that framework the insight and wisdom of those that preceded him that caught the hearts and minds of the young and old. If it weren't for his untimely demise you could 100% believe he'd be moving the culture in a net positive way. Showing the way for generations to come is what really makes you the GOAT

Marek Gazi Biggie...the whole show luke cage even talks about him. You hear 2pac more because it’s become a trend to say he’s the goat but people still talk a lot about biggie today. And to me saying 2pac is the goat is irrelevant because that means you don’t make the difference between west coast and east coast which was HUUGE because 2pac was the head of West coast and Biggie of east and i find it a huge disrespect to biggie’s memory what you are saying but also saying that 2pac is the goat. Biggie was as good as pac i’m sorry but if that wasn’t the case there would never have been a rivality in the first place. Also Nas is known by everyone who’s got a little culture about hip hop is still loved and prayed because this dude was a genius so your comment is irrelevant.

Andy Thierry Andy Thierry actually you didn’t render his comment irrelevant for one reason .. why are there statues of pac all over the world ? College courses at Ivy League schools dedicated to him ? Why is he talked about more than big when both talked about death and dying all the time ? ( Incase you try to say it’s cuz he predicted his death is why the buzz is still going ) . And yeah you provided info as to why others should be contenders for a similar level of clout but the fact is nobody save for maybe Eminem / 50 when he first hit has come close to that level of icon status and impact , I don’t think pac is the greatest lyricist nor the greatest story teller nor role model but the man had better emotional conveyance through his music than any other rapper to ever touch a mic is why we talk about pac . What he wanted you to feel you fuckin felt it . Love big and he’s the better lyricist and story teller out of the two but he didn’t have the same ability to make you feel what he was feeling every time ( suicidal thoughts was dope and deep af tho ) ... anyway I’ll stfu and stop rambling but bottom line comparing pac to big ,eminem ,rakim , pun , big l or any lyricist is like comparing a seasoned preacher who’s been through some shit to the kid who wrote the best poem in poetry club ... two different end goals entirely .. pac never wanted to be known for lyricism .. in his own words “ every time I speak I want the truth to come out I want to shiver “ aka hair on the back of the neck standing up straight slugs to the soul type of shit .... not saying anything you said was wrong entirely but his statement was not irrelevant ... feel free to respond .. I got no job and listen to rap exclusively we can get in depth as a colonascopy If you wish .
