Is a 500hp Stinger the perfect daily?

We review a Stinger GT modded out to make 500hp. Car is super comfortable, yet sporty enough to have fun in. Gapping people with cooled seats lol at the end, he sent us a couple runs he had against a stock C8 Corvette and a 392. Follow us more!

I have a white 2021 GT1 (RWD) myself, Herbert seems like a super chill dude. Car sounds awesome. I love the approach of doing the engine work without anything flashy on the exterior, since these cars are already super sharp/specific looking in the first place. it's already a very tastefully designed car so adding anything to the body needs to be done carefully IMO. Stock wheels slap also, i can't stand the 2022+ ones.

AWD is the way to go. A little rain or snow and you are stomping on all rwd cars regardless of hp.

Have a blacked out 2020 GT2 as my daily, when considering economics, performance & luxury it’s hard to beat for 52k . Best car experience I’ve ever had. And I’m 50 so I’ve had many 😉

I bought a twin turbo Maserati in ‘84. Love the car. The stinger I bought is the evolution. Rock solid due to the weight but never hurts the fun factor. The launch control is cool but the car is at it’s best on twisties. Hides the weight well. I was looking forward to Kia developing a 3.6 L maybe 420 HP but with Electric vehicles taking over I’m glad I got this fun car. 10 yr power train warranty means I should drive it for the next 10-15 years.

I daily mine too, similar mods though no meth injection. It's great. In comfort it's like driving any regular comfortable car, just more torque. And in sport it just goes.

I love mine. Great practicality and performance. I had a 18 Mustang GT Premium and a 19 Lexus IS 300 F Sport, Stinger is probably my most favorite only thing I miss is the V8 growl from the Mustang 😂

Great video, quick question! Won't the primary downpipes not be effective sine the stock mid pipes are restricting back down to 2.5 inches? Thanks! Have a '20 GT2 making about 420 hp to the wheels now

The main restrictive part is the oem catalytic convertors. Since he got rid of that part, they are still more effective than factory. However, you are correct in that they are not as effective as those with larger aftermarket catback exhausts.

Big facts. This is the owners only car and his daily. He has been making this amount of power for some time and has had zero issues. Maintenance is key especially on a stock block. Hopefully he continues to have zero issues!

The 2022 GT1 removed a bunch of things from the trim like cooled seats and the improved Harmon sound system. The prior GT1s had cooled seats and the 15 speaker Harmon. I have a 2020 GT1 RWD and I have all the features except for the heated steering wheel (Don't need it in Texas) and the power lift gate.

@Herbert.fields1 was able to get a 4.1 0-60 and a 1/4 mile time of 11.9. Would be much better with a better set of tires and Herbert runs normal street tires on his RWD Stinger

​@eamotorworks4907 Damn my G70 with just an intake and Lap3 piggyback 2.5 does 4.03 but just over a 12 in the 1/4. That RWD from a dig kills his 0-60. Surprised how much power he's getting from just a piggyback tune it's really gonna wake up with am ECU tune.

I’m torn between this and the Audi RS3…. Audi comes stock at 400hp. With what I want on the Audi it’s 65k but can settle for 60k. This 10 year power train is hard to beat tho, it’s quiet also. I want a great sounding car.

The best sounding car is subjective. We here at the shop love the way the 5 cylinders sound. And they can make and handle power like no other. One of our customers makes 700whp and ran a 10.2 at the quarter mile on a stock block. If you dont plan to mod it, the Kia is one of the best bang for your buck cars right now. Comfy, quick, and the 10 warranty is unmatched. Whatever you decide, you'll enjoy either car. Can't go wrong!

Stinger is discontinuing this year, unfortunately, i got lucky and got my hands on a tribute edition at my kia store. This car is fun, don’t let the horsepower difference sway you, this car keeps up with q50 red sports, also kia has defined this engine from factory for the 10 year 100. best part is the stinger has some forged internals, which is why it can handle this much power on stock block .

Never tune a car they go good at first than heaps of problem after. This happened to my tuned european car it was crazily fast but after too much mechanical issues now i have a stock stinger gt 2022 no more tuning

I have a 2019 G70, 25k on the dash. JB4, Ark Sec downpipes, Denso step 2 plugs, E30, Logic TCU tune, Typhoon cold air and Burger diff strut and I am running 467 @ the wheels and 511 ft lbs tqu, I would really like to see his dyno print or video. Sorry, I just don’t believe it. Esp riding around w your windshield cracked in two places talking about your car on KZbin.

Because the Lap3 is way better than the JB4 and secondary downpipes are useless primaries is where you get a real power gain. Should've done more research before you spent money instead of being salty about it later.
