I've been Xbox for 5k hours and just got my first gaming laptop and playing killers that you can't basically play on controller I was shocked how op they really feel with mouse. Like blight / trickster it's not even close.

As a survivor, if you want to practice Flashlight saves, I change sensitivity to 40%, once you get the hang of it, change it to 70% or higher. Keep in mind 40% will not do quick 360 moves

If you can spin killers and hit hatchets on controller, you're A-Okay... I mostly struggle with Blight and Trickster on controller

some months ago I suffered some sort of nerve (damage?) injury around my elbow. This caused some great physical pain when I stretched out my arm and fingers while playing MNK I was however able to play controller with little to no issues and thus began my journey of mastering controller on survivor and basic M1 killers now days my arm feel much better and I can play MNK occasionally for a fairly decent time however I am still playing controller as it feels just much more relaxed and survivor movement feels much smoother on it as well :D Also for those on steam, you can use the big picture mode to modify your controller settings a bit more, like sensitivity, certain button commands and macros etc :)

I picked up DBD on PS5 after the cross progression update because I wanted to be lazy some days and just play from my couch with a controller. I enjoy the survivor experience so much more so understand where controller players come from. Still been unable to adapt to killer on controller but I’ve never been great at fps on controller anyway.

I play on PS5 and for anyone who doesn't want to mess with button Input to much I just use the basic controls already binded but I changed the vault and drop pallet button to R3 which allows me to keep using R1 for heals and other interactions. I did also change what would be the dead hard button to L3 which that way my thumbs never leave the joysticks, allowing me to keep moving and also looking behind me while in chase. It took a few games to get used to but it works pretty well. Also looping tightly on tiles seems to be better with a controller. Playing killer with controller is a little iffy on ranged killers but it's very possible to still get good shots.

And do you know what's the worst part is when is controller sure you got to fix up your controller techniques and stuff but we are doing a gen and skill check shows up you got press X if you press X you hit the skill check and you also use that perk from Cheryl that block gens it's annoying and or the time if you're in Chase right? Then you press circle to dead head but you let go your items instead don't make the same mistake I did

Actually the controller is not so bad as long as your analog stick doesn't drift there should be okay or doesn't slow down.

After switching to pc i couldnt believe how much better you can perform on killer with kb&m. I cant play killer on controller anymore😂

I had to play switch for 6 months after my pc died, killer was awful but looping was OK. Holding the loop tight was easy. Oddly enough billy actually felt pretty good, I could hit 180 curves pretty easily.

ever since i started DBD on PC since moving over from PS4 i have always used controller for survivor and m/k for killer. i just don't like m/k for survivor just doesn't feel 'right' to me

I haven't played Survivor on controller but I imagine it's very stable compared to MnK. MnK you need to manually turn your camera constantly to run a tight loop. On Controller you just hold a direction and your character will run circles.

I just started using mouse and keyboard and I like it. I'm moved over from the ps5 when cross progression came.

I use X for gens, heals, hatch , chests, pickup items and RB for pallets , windows and I use toggle/run to cancel. It allows you to sit on gens and still look around , no accidental dropping pallets. Survivor with controller I feel is OP if you use these settings. Just move the other X prompt to Y or another button that's rarely used. Enjoy

One of the biggest problems I’ve had on a controller during 2v8 was trying to disarm traps that were put inside pallets. The game only wants to give you the drop pallet command instead of the disarm trap command no matter how much closer you are to the trap. Unfortunately since these are considered the same type of actions you can’t do even separate the key binds. I don’t know if this is an issue for keyboard users as well.

I’m a killer main with 1100+ hours and I’ve only ever played on xbox. I’ve developed a lot of skill as a basic M1 killer in general with controller so I do pretty well with a lot of killers and I consistently get wins with huntress even though she’s more pc-favorable. I will say though that certain killers with high skill ceilings require a lot of practice on controller, and if you’re not consistent the skill can fall off (i.e. I used to be great with oni, nurse, and blight but now struggle with their powers after taking a break for the school year)

I have my sensitivity on 100, which allowed me to spin the huntress and wraith at the same time in a 2 v 8, you'll get use to it and realize it's easier to get around obstacles when you accidentally bump into them

Any tricks for playing Trickster on Controller?

Consistency and mess around with the sensitivity setting. You likely won't have an easy time immediately. After that, I see it the same as playing any ranged killer, like learning to drag Nemesis's attack, forcing people into a certain spot as Deathslinger, etc. I personally like aiming down as Trickster.

Having a lower sensitivity definitely helps with his aim, but it also makes it harder to flick your camera for mind games. I can't tell if that's a good compromise. Would you be kind to suggest your own sensitivity option if you've played Trickster on controller before? Do you aim down for medium to long range throws as well?

My sensitivity for controller in general is 70%. I aim about the same as I do with other ranged killers at a distance, but it's more about consistency for me. I honestly haven't been playing him that much since his change to movement speed and required knives, as well as the flashing lights bug he had. My best advice is to try different numbers and keep playing. It took me a while to even feel comfortable with my current settings and how I can kick back
