Why is a Masjid holding an event about the life of a monarch in the first place? Secondly he might not have known what was going to happen at the event but he did know what the event was so why did he accept the invitation to attend the event in the first place? I think when Masjids & Imaams go to this level to fit in with the disbelievers and their customs the following believers have to question who are we following? ELMs response only puts their status into question. The Imaam may not have been on official Masjid duty but he is an Imaam at the ELM. My opinion is that he should have stepped down from his position or he should be removed as he's lost the respect of the community. Such a sad day when our leaders and islamic institutions forget their identity and beliefs all for the favour of the disbelievers.

I don't understand how this is a difficult decision. This shouldn't be up for debate. He was singing the dame national anthem. It's all good giving a khuttba about the future generation how we as parents should do this and that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the national anthem but you won't catch me singing it. Just because my work invites me to the Christmas party, doesn't mean I have to go. He is more knowledgeable in Islam then we are but one thing I do know is, we bow to no man (or kneel).
