Jazakumullahu khairan. I need some clarifications over the US support for Israel. Israel wants to achieve what they call 'The Greater Israel' which expands way beyond Palestine, in fact reaching even parts of Egypt and Saudi. Here is the point: according to my readings the US doesn't want that, but rather wants Israel to remain contained and even accept a two-state solution. So, why is that the US keeps on allowing Iarael to expand and settle in more more lands which eventually will see Israel achiving its goal of establishing the Greater Israel?

@shafimiah7149 jzk for your question. As US is a global power its busy with global issues and can not really get bogged down in one region. Israel takes advantage of this and has continued to build settlements in historic paleatine. Due to pro zionists in Congress, zionist lobbying power and the evangelical Christians, Israel has been able to do this. Whilst Israel is expanding in Palestine, In the broader region it's very far from greater Israel. So US has bigger issues to deal with, and this has allowed Israel to get away with what its doing.

@@theGeopolity jazakallahu for replying. So is it correct to say that the US is not happy with the idea of establishing the Greater Israel, but it's 'ok' with some concessions as long as Israel doesn't become too powerful within the region? I'm just trying to make sense of the imperative of America: nowwhere in the world there should be a nation that dominates fully over others, otherwise it might become a threat for America itself.

@@shafimiah7149 The challenge for the US is the line has become blurred between Israeli interest and US interest due to pro-Zionist congressman, Zionist lobby and the evangelical Christians. These groups keep advocating that US-Israel inrerests are the same and Israel is key ally of US and do the US should keep supporting Israel with a rms and political cover. The US president has his hands tied to even put pressure on Israel to stop civilian deaths and to halt a regional war as these factions within the US believe, advocate and push US unconditional support for Israel. As the US has spent decades investing, building and arming Israel, it always defends its child, no matter what it does. Bit as we saw with the Iranian nuke deal, the US had to slap Israel in order, who was dead against this deal. The US doesn’t want to share the region with anyone, as Israel also supports US aims in the Middle East the US overlooks other things Israel does. This will naturally become a problem foe the US in the future and Israel doesn’t want a Palestinian state - they even passed a law in August that there cannot be a Palestinian state. I feel the US will begin to use it power over Israel to bring it in line once the elections are over in November.
