Is a Straight Piped Durango RT Daily Drivable?

Had mine setup this way for two years now and it’s a love/hate relationship some days. It’s always LOUD on acceleration with the lovely crackles when downshifting. Hope you enjoy it!

Great vids, helped me make my decision to go with this setup, thank you. Have muffler delete but need to go louder, definitely ripping off the resonators but I think that x pipe is key to keeping the sound tamed

Oh man, so I did it and did 5 inch tips…. There’s SO much drone it’s ridiculous, my ears are literally ringing. I need to get mufflers put on now…. My wife’s going to murder me 😬. Don’t do the tips you’ll regret it

Did you use the regular size pipe? I’m thinking of using 3in. From front flanges with X pipe and 3in all the way back

Its 2.5” for now. I’ll end up getting headers, high flow cats, and 3” all the way out in the end.

Cats still on? I am now catless and straight, its annoying. I had just mid and resonators removed for about a year then when i supercharged it cats got clogged so here i am. Probably looking to put mufflers back on now

Does MDS (when it drops down to 4 cylinder mode) make noise? I have a muffler delete(soon to be true duals) on my 5.7 Ram that only drones when MDS kicks in and my mom has an R/T Durango and Im trying to convince her to get an exhaust

Yeah it’ll drone when it drops down. I do not use it though…..at all.

X pipe in place of center muffler, and rear mufflers straight piped. No lights ever, no issues. Not sure how it’ll sound on the GT though.

I installed the borla x pipe on my 21 RT. I get no drone . Love the sound

No tuning needed for these exhaust mods. If you go catless you’ll beed tuning.

Its because of the pipe diameter. Need to go 3” and with larger tips to get better flow, thanks though!
