I have the same bike, a few suggestions if I may. A fuel controller will smooth out the power and help with the slow speed power surging, open up the air box with small holes drilled in the plastic on the front and rear sides, since you already have Cobra exhaust this will wake the bike up. When it's time for new tires get a 250 rear, it will help the bike lean better and correct the speedometer, it's about 5 mph slow with the 210.

Maybe you all can learn from my experience: I had never ridden a motorcycle prior to taking the safety course. After passing the course, I'd made my 2014 Yamaha Stryker purchase in May 2015. Although I don't think this would be a good startup bike, it does make sense to purchase the bike you really want for your first bike. See, I did not have any family or friends who rode so I was on my own. If you want to start riding and know someone who rides, ask them if you can get on it to get a feel for the bike. If they have an extra smaller bike around such as a 250cc or smaller - even better. If you know someone, you have it made. As for me, it made no sense purchasing a startup bike because you will be ready to upgrade quick, probably within months. I knew that when Id purchased the Stryker. After falling off of it 7 times and after the scratches and bruises healed along with a dent on the gas tank, I was getting ready to give up. Then one day, I'd just told myself I wasn't going to fall off anymore and haven't since. So overall, if you have the money go ahead and purchase a startup bike then sale it, then place that toward what you want. But for the rest of us, I would say get what you want because it doesn't make any sense purchasing something that you are just keeping a few months, but hey you may want to stick with a 250cc or a 750 or a 850, to each their own. AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.....TAKE THE SAFETY COURSE!!! It will save your life. And far as $50 for the course, I would like to know where he got his because I'd paid over $230 for mine.

This will by my first bike as well thank you for your input as I have been saving up for a motorcycle I was on the verge between a Harley Davidson sportster 1200 xl custom or a Honda shadow phantom 750 but I would have to make some small changes to both motorcycles and after going through many comments and reviews about HD bikes I figured the maintenance and constant having to fix things up might not be best suited for me as for the phantom I would have to change the handle bars as the owner had them changed to 14in t bars which would have been a bit too high for me but then stumbled across the Stryker and it looked amazing so I figured why not get it now since I’ll be left wanting to eventually change from the phantom to something else so I went with the Stryker and I will have my older brother pick it up for me this Sunday since I’m currently on deployment at the moment but I am excited I haven’t been on a motorcycle in so long and have always wanted a motorcycle since I got my first dirtbike at 15

@@renatoreyes6583 It looks as if you havent everything figured out yourself, good deal. Those Honda Shadows are nice especially the all black one. I was considering getting that one but once again, Id thought about the startup bike factor. Far as HD, Id been hearing too many things about how bad they need maintainence, thats why many perfer Indians. But with the Stryker, Id received many compliments and its been mistaken alot for a HD. Whats stands out is its a chopper style bike and its alot cheaper and needs less maintainence. So, best of luck and thank you for your service.

Oh man, your story is like mine. 20 years of not riding and now bought a bike TODAY, and I was looking at the Stryker. I LOVE it. I was a little intimidated because I have knee problems and I need a light bike at a stop light. I ended up getting a Honda Shadow 750 because of the low seat height even though I'm 6' tall, but in the back of my mind I kind of wish I just took the chance on the Stryker. The Good thing is who is to say I can't own TWO bikes soon ? I WILL own this bike next. I love it.

Right on! I have a buddy at work that has a shadow and he loves it too!! It's all about what you have a blast on and what you feel safe riding. This is my first bike after a long effing time and it has taken quite a few rides to feel comfortable because of the chopper style. but.... I've had no issues with the bike so far and have enjoyed it thoroughly! THANKS FOR THE COMMENT AND BE SAFE MY BROTHER!!!

The Stryker has a low seat level as well but you're correct that while sitting at a light it's a little heavier if you've knee problems etc.. I just got 1 and I love it and I'm 5'11 and it's perfect for me and very powerful and fast!

I've a 2011 Stryker and They're absolutely NOT beginner bikes and I wish people would stop saying that!

Why do you say that, I’m not a beginner but I’m looking at getting one for my second bike and am just curious
@LONEWOLF-rq5tl8 ай бұрын
@@YaBoyCrystalLink It's not a beginner bike for someone that hasn't ridden much or at all because this bike has alot of power and it's a 1300 cc V-twin. Now,some people out there just starting to ride or learning how to ride it just comes natural but for most people just starting out, absolutely don't get on this as your first bike. This bike is heavy ish and VERY FAST!!

@@LONEWOLF-rq5tl ok cool I have a VStar 650 right now and have been riding for about a year and a half and looking to upgrade and this was one of the bikes I was looking at

Hmm it was my first bike. I still have it. I think it depends of how safe of a rider you are and how well you know your limits. It definitely has lots of power. But at the same time. You out your practice in. It will be one of the best starters bikes. I thought my brother a cousin how to ride on my Stryker. Took my time with them. Big empty parking lots. Make them do the MFS course drills. And when they were ready I made them take the real one for their endorsement.

Yes I sure do. I haven't had any issues with it. It's currently in my garage just sitting since I live in Ohio and it's winter here. But I look forward to pulling her out here soon.
