You talk about the snake eating its tail - my wife firmly believes that recruitment is already in this position, where applicants are using AI to generate CVs and cover letters and recruiters are using AI to sift through them, so humans aren't really involved in the process any more. It certainly makes actually getting past that initial sift stage a lot more challenging...

Smaller models are getting as good as the trillion parameter models. ChatGPT 4o-mini is better by a considerable margin than ChatGPT 4, so it’s not the case that advances are only coming through increases in parameters. Add to that the development of AI specific chips, like Groq’s LPU, so more and more companies will be producing ASICs which are build specifically for transformers, bringing the capabilities of frontier models, into phones and PCs,and once that happens agent frameworks, like Jim Fan’s Voyager MineCraft framework, will be able to rapidly adapt intelligently to many different scenarios and environments, so LLMs will break out of the niche areas. Things are only just getting started it like the web in 1995, when people couldn’t see it as much more than a novelty. But,yes, there will be a bubble that will burst, but this stuff is real and will make a huge difference to our lives.

05:02 - This use case tells me he never worked in IT. Non-technical members of a business, generally, aren't that inquisitive about technology. A more likely scenario I envision is, non-technical person complains to chatGPT that their app isn't doing what they want, then asks chatGPT to fix the problem. chatGPT will give a bogus answer, as any human would do given such little contex about a database problem. Then said non-technical person will report to anyone in ear shot that AI is a sham and waste of time.

😂😂 About 5:00 talks about "SQL being generated in minutes" and exactly a min later around 6:00 says "I haven't tested it but it is reliable for relatively simple SQL" ROFL That is called BI not AI. Business Intelligence. Then COBOL converted to Java? Excuse me? Give it a huge enough payload like COBOL program worth 3mil lines of code then it not only chokes but pukes 😂😂 Please do some homework before shoving this AI mess down IT managers throat 😅
