I have the same rain barrel and we use it for for the plants. or when the area has no water. I want to get another one to install it to the roof, just for my plants. Great video.my first year

I recently got a rain barrel and was so excited to use it for my veggie garden, but I've heard so much about the dangers of using rain barrel water on your veggies since it's not potable and the algae can be harmful to plants. I am so paranoid to use it now! How long have you been using it and do the sucker fish work well? How long do they survive? Do you also need to feed them on top of them eating the algae?

We have not used sucker fish but you would need to feed them and have pump to add oxygen to the water
