I'm not a fan of Ali but calling some of these examples mismanagement is a bit of a stretch Umar was coming off a long lay off and wanted a fight before Ramadan and since nobody ranked wanted it, they took the Bekzat fight to keep him active Belal's situation isn't a good look i agree but a lot of it is down to the ufc waiting until december to give colby the shot For Ankalaev, the top of LHW was logjammed cos of Jiri and Jamahal but it didn't help that the first Walker fight ended in a NC. They rebooked the fight, he got the KO and he should be next up for the title anyway Also, the example with Slim Trabelsi, Slim wanted to be released from Fernand Lopez so he could sign with the ufc, but because Lopez runs Ares fc, he tried to hold him hostage for 90k. Also fernand lopez is a coach, manager and is chairman of a promotion and he actively stopped one of his fighters from joining the ufc, isn't that concerning? 🤷‍♂️

You forgot to mention: In 2016, Dana tweeted that Khabib fighting for the title vs Alvarez, not Conor, then Dana gave Khabib's title shot to Conor instead. If Khabib didn't wait 2 more years for his title shot, he would have minimum 5 title defenses (add. No.5 ranked RDA, and no.4 ranked Barboza wins as title defenses).

The reason why I think we can put so much on management is the fighters have said in interviews “I just trust my management and let them handle all that.” I’ve heard Justin and Kayla say that in a few interviews when asked about match ups/upcoming fights. You hear fighters say it all the time. While yes the fighter technically has final say, the fighters seem to put a lot of faith in dominance mma management and follow their decisions, whether it works out for them or not.

Fernand Lopez is a vey sketchy guy himself. He's a coach, manager and is chairman of france's biggest promotion. Slim Trabelsi isn't the only former client to call Lopez out, Ngannou did too and Cedric Doumbe exposed him for domestic violence as well. There are also other fighters like Baki and Lazy King who are considering leaving Lopez so that they can get into the UFC even for less money.

Just found your channel first video i watched and personally the only thing i agree on somewhat is the Belal situation BUT you have to remember there are 2 sides to the coin i believe Ali is looking out for his fighters but The UFC can shoot down all the opportunities the fighters get. I think a lot of people think you have to know how to fight to be in the UFC but once again remember two sides of the coin you can fight all you want but can you make the fans happy can you sell the fight. Now you take the "two sides of a coin" and imagine having a pockiet full of change. There is so much that goes into the making of a fight BUT theres also things that are not connected to the sport in anyway that prevent a fight from taking place. You also have fighters from all across the world from different walks of life with that comes so many hurdles to overcome. Signing a contract its the easiest step when it comes to making a fight. With that being said Ali has his flaws but hes one man with a load of fighters to manage. With a good portion of his fighters being from across the pond and the current conflicts going on i fear a lot of fighters from that region of the planet wont get to fight as much as they would like but Ill take what i can get. Im willing to cut Ali a little bit of slack. As far as the reporter situation theres that old saying if you ain't cheating you aint trying but i like to look atit as creatively winning.

I heard Ali in an interview say that Islam will beat Leon after 2 more fights. And later say Belal will take WW belt from Leon before Christmas. HUH? And didn't he manage Khabib? People either don't know or forget that Khabib spent 5 years in the top ten, not dropping a round and 10-8ing most of them before his title shot. And I'd bet my house would have waited even longer (maybe years) had Conor not vacated. He should have fought in early 2024 but I suspect Dana was pushing back Islam vs Gaethje cuz he wanted it to be on a Saudi card. Either way Islam fill fight 2 times this year for sure. Poirier in June and Arman in October. 2 defences per year is absolutely fine.

In the NFL if an owner tries to lure a head coach from another team before his contract is up that owner can get heavy fines and draft choices levied against that owner. It should be the same for managers even if, especially if the fighter has not reached the top level of competition yet. Fighter on the Gaethje level should not have be handcuffed by an asshole.
