This review is absolutely correct. I compare shop between amazon, ebay and aliexpress. If price is similar then I always buy on either amazon or ebay. Aliexpress has terrible buyer protection. They "auto-confirm" that you received item even if you didn't. I only buy cheap stuff from aliexpress and 99% of time, I wind up buying on ebay or amazon for the superior buyer protection. Even for the few cheap stuff I bought on aliexpress it gave me huge headaches.

I bought fairly expensive items from phones to entire 3D printers. Thankfully never had a single issue and I used to love the price but after the changes and VAT loophole closing. I now find I can pay almost the same to just get it next day from Amazon with of course all the protection that company offers.

This was a really good video! One way you can find a scam seller is WHEN they ship. If you check the tracking code multiple times and it's unable to generate any information, that's usually a scam.

when they scam they usually enter an existing tracking number for your country so you only find out when it delivers that it belongs to another customer in your country .. at least that is how I got all the scams done for Switzerland. Finding out after 2-3 months is a nightmare because the tracking info is valid just not belonging to your order

Same experience here. The most expensive thing I bought on AE was a camera tripod from a Chinese brand which is also sold on Amazon. It did take a long time to deliver but it did match all the notes on the reviews so I was happy.

From my experience with Aliexpress. I've mostly bought like knockoff action figures and all except I think one have been delivered to me and that was mostly because of a substitute delivery driver than my usual one. He misplaced the package but I mostly buy there to get knockoffs of very expensive figures that are over like 100 dollars

Brought an item and been waiting 2 and a half months. Most of that time, parcel arrived in Belgium considering I live in the UK and been stuck in Belgium. They keep telling me it's been delivered to your destination area. Order the same product again from different seller and arrived in 10 days as promised on both. I see some sellers now charging 10 English pounds or a couple of pounds, like before it used to be free postage. Also sent one item back with no extra charges - but it will cost you a lot more sending stuff back in postage.

Yeh, I briefly mentioned that you shouldn't buy anything like complex electronics, but I should have made more of a point of warranties. Much like getting a refund, it's not worth the effort. Don't buy anything that might even remotely need a warranty claim.

That's not possible - AliExpress handles the money through Escrow. If the product isn't delivered, you'll be refunded. It may take a few weeks, but if you file a complaint/non-delivery dispute, you will get your money back. It was AliExpress that charged you, not the vendor.

It draws you in with promises of being pro-consumer, but when it comes to it, it becomes this sort of "discussion" via dispute system with the seller, your laws ignored. Also there's no way to report a scam product, you can only buy it and leave a bad review.

There's a dispute option for product not being as described, provide evidence like a photo, and Ali steps in if you can't reach a resolution. But yes, you do have to discuss with the seller first to see if you can come to a resolution between yourselves.

Depends. If it's actually being sent "Aliexpress Standard", I find 10 days is more likely. If you used "AliExpress Saver", which is Cainao, expect up to three months, even if it arrives in your country within a week.

The feedback is only one factor to consider. Does it seem to good to be true? Is it possible the photos are faked, or at least the first image is not true? Does the shop have a random name like "shop123123"? How long has it been open?

just don't do it, when your package disappears you will be ripped off. Seller claims its up to Aliexpress to refund, Aliexpress claims its up to seller. Cheap courier claims delivered, Ali wants proof the cheap courier (4PX) doesn't have package, but there is no way to contact 4PX. Seller won't provide contact info (battery charger store) or proof of signature, which they (seller an d 4PX) claim I have done. Aliexpress customer service is a joke (Nadeem and Eva), and rude, suspect racism against Canadians. Have purchased $100's from Aliexpress, first pack to go missing, flaws have reared their ugly heads, will never use Ali again, and will discredit Ali at all costs forever!

I've had mine stored there for a decade - but I'm from the UK, so your experience may vary. In europe we have much stronger card protection with chip and pin, plus a verification code on the back, and usually a secondary verification from the bank. If you're in the US, you're not safe using a card anywhere due to lack of authentication.

All of their servers are based in China unlike any e-commerce websites so whatever info you freely give to them will be stolen through your own consent. Your info will be readily available to be picked up, stolen and used by the CCP government. Apps are also the same too. Any problems you may encounter afterwards, it’s all at your own risk.

Be wary about what you buy. If you have any reason to have to use the dispute centre you have lost as it doesn't work. It asks you to add information but you are blocked from doing so. I was also in another dispute and the seller was going to give me a refund but Aliexpress decided to favour the seller and i lost the refund. There are some deals to be had but take care.

You just need to go to AliExpres.com and login to your account. All the disputes are listed there. Email links are dodgy at the best of times, as it's difficult to redirect into an app.

They do a lot of stalling fork in between communication if you have questions or concerns, or even if you want a refund or your items don’t come they do a lot of stalling and pretending to use poor sentence structure feigning the nationality barrier is if they don’t understand you and please do not buy any clothes off of their clothing is going to be extremely cheap and not what you want and it’s crazy that you have to wait so long with the exception of obviously it’s coming from so far away but you wait so long just to get some ill fitting swap meet fitment on a rayon shirt it’s crazy so I don’t wanna close but at the same time don’t order anything else that needs to fit on something properly may be a pair of glasses for your face maybe

That used to be the case, but in fact, VAT and import fees are now charged at source. So when you get to checkout on AliExpress, it'll automatically charge you an extar 20% VAT. This makes everything a bit more expensive, but eliminates the chance of getting a silly handling fee added on by royal mail (which used to be a flat rate £12 + 20% VAT, regardless of whether the item you bought was worth $1 or $100)
