Nice stories! Seems like a lot of people are very misinformed about what you really study at a university and what's required to work in the industry and the universities use that. The industry work is rather a craft than "fine arts" so while things like art history are nice you need specific real life skills that most schools barely give.

Totally agree. I think the biggest thing that art schools do usually is give you 300 projects that are unrelated. Do ceramics, photography, oil paint, story boarding. Each class might be 2-3 months. And then after 5 years of studying you can't perform in any of those fields because you barely started doing them.
