Of course its a DAW, It Does Everything that Any Paid Version DAW Can Do...Just because Its a "Free" Open Source Software, doesnt make it Any less of a DAW. By the Way, It doesn't have to be Free, You can Offer a Donation to the Makers of it. REAPER DAW Is my Go-to DAW since 2017 Abd Its Free for a time And a one time fee of $60 for a Personal License AND Its Open Source to a Degree in that Designers Can Create Skins and Theme Looks For it, for instance.

I still think that it's more an "Audio Editor" than a DAW buuuut... what is a DAW ? There's no specs about DAW definition, so we could say that it's a *very* limited DAW :)

They have this idiotic thing that's popped up that never was a problem before: It's starts automatically scanning your system for plugins unless you hit the button to stop the process. Cakewalk does the same thing, but not in a way that interferes with your workflow 🤔

Check Your Setting on it and see If You can Stop that If You want it to. But Why would You Not want it to Check for Plugins of Your Own if Youre Using Audacity to begin with? I dont get what Your problem is with that. Thats a very Smart thing for it to do.

@@KoolKatRecordingStudios Have you used it recently? The program is unavailable until the scanning completes or you stop it. I don't necessarily need it to have all my plugins anyway, I have Reaper for that.

@@KevinWayne Yes I have used Audacity recently Sir. It doesnt do that on mine and never did. And Yes I have the Updated Version as of late. Thats why Im saying did You set it that way or theres probably a way of turning that off. But I know what Youre saying, because I prefer Audacity to quickly open in my case too. I Use Reaper DAW as well and that Opens pretty quick after its scanning.

@@KoolKatRecordingStudios There's no option otherwise. It does what it does.
