@@ramaladingdong4998 not only did Bam popularize skating more, but he literally started what KZbin still is today. The comedy, the pranks, it's all roots to him. I hate Steve O for literally stealing his thunder and underdogging him. He's such a junkie waste of "footage".

As far as like being the absolute best AT skating, No, Bam def isn't up there. But if we're going off impact, Putting it out there and elevating the popularity of skating, Bam is up there 100%. Back around 03-04, It seriously seemed like every teenager wanted to be Bam. I remember going to the skate part and everyone just talking about Viva La Bam. Playing THUG2 and Bam basically taking over the entire game lol dude was a superstar.

I think deep down Steve really wants bam to get better just like all of us .. Steve O was one of my favorite skaters growing up, I remember watching his skate video where he was super young , I don’t think they were even producing popsicle shaped boards yet and he was shredding gnarly shit! He could have easily gone pro himself had he really dove into it once he started getting all the attention from MTV like Bam did.. Both skateboarding legends in my humble opinion.

Steve O knows how valuable Bam is when he is all sober and good. Bam got stories for days and is legit funny, its just that when Bam get`s on something it`s pretty much impossible to work with him. Bam a total rollercoaster, one moment he is all good the next moment u see him all drugged up ranting about someone on the internet. There probably just ain`t anyone out there who can actually help him to become this sober all good guy that many people wish he would become. Maybe prison, solitary confinement would change him but who knows....

He was the first skater to be signed by Nike and would tape nike signs on his shoes because Nike had a clause saying he couldnt wear any other brand. He did all of this at just 16. CKY2K was something everyone had on when you went to their house lol It was like a bible and im pretty sure it was to some of my friends. Dude is a legend and belongs on Mt. At a skatepark demo back in the day Bam dropped in from the guard rail onto the gnarliest of banks. The only footage I've seen of it is my own. It was absolutely mind blowing. The simple definition of a professional in any field is you earn your major income from it. So if a skater lives from skating/sponsor cheques they are a professional, if they earn else where they are semi pro. If they earn no money from skating they remain an amateur.

Again, it depends on what you choose to qualify people. I use impact as a metric. If bam converted a large amount of people to skating or made skating seem "cool", thats pretty impactful for the scene. Tony impacted the scene with his games, bringing eyes to skating who never would even touch a skateboard. You could say skating might not be a mainstream stay without either of them. It could have died like roller skating has. In my personal opinion, I would say redbull could almost be on the mount rush more. They have defined Extreme sports/X games. They have continued to keep the scene alive, boosting skating achievements and events. Any non X Games skating event, at least to mainstream watchers, seems like a knock off X games. They have brought HUGE mainstream legitimacy to the sport that does go un-noticed a lot of the time.

@matissstrautmanis lol I'm a big fan of Bam lol I don't think what I wrote was super clear haha. to me Bam is the best , I would watch Viva LA Bam and Jackass back in the day with my late little bro who himself was PHENOMENAL ON A SKATEBOARD!! I was just surprised these assholes would even mention Bam in their top most favorite skaters. Besides clicks and views lol and that too in itself is funny to me! What Bam brought was more far more than a typical professional skater brings to the sport, he almost single handedly made it a mainstream thing again which if that's what he were trying to do would seem like the biggest task but he brought thousands into the sport without even a thought about it ! Like it just sort of "happened " lol. The truth is whatever Bams contribution to skating looks like .. maybe not the best and cleanest most smooth tricks or whatever.. but what he did was amass a following without trying or even knowing! The truth is skating at this present moment wouldn't be what it is today right now if it wasn't for Bam Margeras cobtribution Whatever that might look like. they all know it too. Lol.

Rodney and Hawk are for sure up there. The other two.... You could make a fair argument for probably a dozen guys. Huston I think takes a slot just because of his consistency and his massive video archives. Hawk and Mullen weren't rail guys. Huston is a rail guy. THE rail guy. Andy Anderson is so skilled but he's not like, a forefather of skate. Maybe one day... But as far as innovation goes... Damn I don't know... Reynolds? Mehh.. id pick daewon but i know most woildnt agree... The fourth slot... So many deserve it. Hawk, Mullen and Huston for sure though.

No mention of tony alva? No mention of Stacy Peralta? Hell, the entire goddamned z-boys crew. I love bam. I really do and feel sorry for him for the mess he made of his life. However, as good as he was, he doesn't even rank in the top 20 much less make it to the mt. rushmore of skating.

Rodney Mullen, Tony Hawk, Danny Way, Rob Dyrdek. But truly can't leave out Bam(.) So there would have to be five on the real. Bams innovation and craziness with video. T🎉ony Hawk had the first real push to skateboarding popularity. Rodney Mullen for the true invention of so many tricks. Rob Dyrdek because of the massive fame on MTV and his creativity. Danny Way... it's Danny Way.
