Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche discusses the differences between affiliation and participation in Buddhadharma versus substantive growth that becomes apparent to others.
Excerpt from 2008 teaching on Nagarjun'a text, "Letter to a Friend," amzn.to/3GNOQrN conducted on the UC Berkeley campus. She reviews key issues in a Buddhism 101 or Buddhism for Beginners manner and Rinpoche brings her usual clarity.

Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist teacher from the Mindrolling lineage, having received traditional Tibetan meditation training as well as a Western education. Her teachers include many of the 20th century's great meditation masters such as her father, Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, the Sixteenth Karmapa and Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche.
She is the author of This Precious Life amzn.to/3wfgVUb
About the text: An exposition of the entire Buddhist path in only 123 verses. A Buddhist classic. Nagarjuna's poetic presentation of the fundamental teachings of the Great Vehicle, or Mahayana, is remarkable for its concise style and memorable imagery, making it one of the most widely quoted sources in other commentaries on the Mahayana path. The great Indian Buddhist master Nagarjuna (first-second century C.E.) wrote his celebrated poem "Letter to a Friend" as a gift of advice to a South Indian king, and it has since become a monument in the Indian shastra tradition.
Tibetan Buddhist teaching that provides excellent grounding and orientation for beginning and experienced meditators alike and those interested more broadly in spiritual subjects. Mahayana

Here is a link to a talk that Khandro Rinpoche gave called "Practicing in Times of Adversity". It is audio only. As Rinpoche says: "It is a time of unspeakable fear and disruption for most of the world. During such times of crisis and struggle which arise in our lives, our practice could be one of the first things we turn to." @t

I love this. Because it's so divorced from neurotic concepts that plague me at times. Have these practices allowed me to be more supple, joyfully content, and kind to others? If yes, then keep at it! And if something isn't doing that for you, it's not your path!

I've been (mostly) 'walking the walk' for most of my life- I just didn't realise that my world view and behaviour was aligned with the teachings known as 'Dharma' until around 2-3 years ago! I have come across people who 'talk the talk', often rather boastfully, but I just smile and stay silent, and wordlessly pray that one day they will genuinely internalise the Dharma and express it in their speech and actions. Thank you Your Eminence- your book 'This Precious Human Life' is one of my favourite Dharma writings. Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha x.

Maybe just me, but I'm thinking that it might have been more helpful to have been walked through the practice or practices while in the presence of a teacher proficient in the practice. Just hearing about it could maybe not translate or lead to integration. Also maybe more than once with an authentic walk through might have helped too.
