Yes sir brawl stars is pay to win right now. The new update dropped today and I was excited to play brawlers with new hypercharge especially fang and edgar. But once I logged into the game, I found out that you can only buy hypercharges with gems only and to buy it with coins you have to wait for 17 days. So for the next 17 days, I would get destoryed by someone who spends real money in the game and bought those broken because I cannot unlock those hypercharges since I am f2p player. And I am sure that after 17 days when you can finally buy them with coins, brawl stars would nerf those hypercharges and make them useless so it won't be even fun anymore and it would a waste of coins if I buy them.

The game is pay to win from the start. The fact you can use a max power level brawler against low power levels often in matches tells you all. People want to have an advantage over each other.

To be fair, this is just my opinion. I never really see money progression as pay to win? Because at the end of the day progression can be obtained as long as you play the game it’s not something you don’t have access to unless you pay. HOWEVER I do agree match making is horrible but it could just be a match making issue and not a money issue. I might be wrong tho.

@NedisNuggetT I think having a maxed out brawler with low trophies that you used money to power level them only to face low levels is pay to win. But if matchmaking would be fixed and they matched up people with similar levels then it would be pay to play. I have two accounts one that I used to buy the value packs back when they had the loot boxes and it helped progress my brawlers. I also have a pure free to play account and it takes a really long time to even level up one brawler. But if someone would pay to level up their brawlers to max in order to skip the grind in order to play with higher ranking people sure makes sense. But to have someone maxed out the legendary brawler kit already and seeing them against low trophies, low level brawlers that's pay to win or at a minimum very bad matchmaking. Agree with you matchmaking needs to be fixed.

No, there’s nothing fair to it. There’s numerous other ways to make a profit, besides pay to win. And many good examples too like Fortnite and Val

@@NedisNuggetT Yes, and altough Brawl Stars could do that, keep in mind that Brawl Stars is a small-to-medium-sized mobile game, Fortnite and Val are huge games, and Fortnite spanning across all platforms. Also, isn't that what the devs were doing before? They had it set up like Fortnite, where its only pay to look, but like they said, they couldn't make enough money for that.

Yes but it wasn’t that it wasn’t a good idea. It was just poorly executed, I remembered back then I thought to myself “man this shop sucks” but not cause the skins were not good but cause they had no value… either way size of platform does not matter! You think epic games start off huge? No they were practically unknown in the Indy company until they made success on their non-pay to win skins. Brawl stars in the other hand was the opposite, supercell was already successful so they had all the support needed. This is entirely brawl stars fault on how they manage their store. But pay to win is never an excuse. I hope that makes sense?
